Now that's a serious cliffhanger. ;) Looking forward to it.

Great models. They've got a nice dynamic look. And I prefer their simpler details to the more elaborate details of the current elf models. It makes a bigger impact if you only have 1 gem then when you've got half a dozen. The painting nicely fits with them. Nothing too over the top or cartoonish. The only thing might be that they're a bit shiny, though that could also just be the picture of course.

They are a bit shinny. The new Matt varnish I tried out is not very Matt. When I get a chance to pick up another can of the old stuff I'm going to hit everything from the last couple months again

I finished a bit more than expected today. The 1/day for Feburuay is well in hand if I count Cav as 2 and each warmaster base as 1 (as I usually do). Tomorrow or the day after will see some crossbow men as well. With luck I can catch up on the shortfall from January and be back to 1/day for the year.

These will always brigade with a unit of archers, to make them seaguard.

Lot's of lovely models again. The black riders have a very Dark Elf feel for me. I still like them. A black paint scheme has a high risk of being boring, but this one is interesting.

The sea-elf spear unit is becoming massif. That's a great start for an army :)

One of the things I like about warmaster is that the units look big. Well, tiny, but also big.

Finished the marksmen. 10 Horses almost done. I have the Mordheim Amazons on the painting corks. That's happened before though, so we will see.

10 Horses done except the basing (in progress). And a small amount of progress on the archers. I'd guess they finish this month for sure, and hopefully the riders for the horses do as well.

Agreed. By being so tiny you get a lot more models in the same space, which makes the armies look a lot bigger. It makes the size creep in WH feel unnecessary as well.

10 horses done, 5 riders done. Another 5 riders started. Warmaster archers almost done. I'm not sure I'll be able to finish any more this month, but it's still been a pretty good one.

And the cav unit is done. One of each, plus a duplicate to hold the standard.

A unit of warmaster archers and a wizard just need to be based. I think that means I've got 500 pts worth painted now.

Next up are some heros to go with the cav shown above, some warmaster bolt throwers, and *hopefully* some amazons.

They're very bretonian in feel, as far as how you've painted them. Very clean and striking.

The models themselves feel small-ish. How do they compare to other HE horse models (like SH's)?

Like most 3rd edition stuff I'd say they are noticeably smaller than anything 6th-current. It's most noticeable in the horses for sure.

Thanks. It's a good game, much better suited to "large battles" than warhammer is. I just need to finish basing a wizard and some archers, I think that will give me a usable painted 500 point force (plus an extra unit of painted eagles). I've actually got enough to bring me up to 1000 points glued to craft sticks right now. I was kind of surprised when finishing the archers caused me to want to start more. Best part is that there are a ton of (well maybe 10) companies making 10mm minis right now, so if you can find people to play and don't need to stick to GW it's pretty reasonable to start an army. Painting 10mm can become a chore though, so I recommend letting yourself go back to 28mm occasionally.

Archers. I was tempted to do bowstrings, but I decided that would be silly.

Wizard.

This is now a 500pt force. I don't think it would be a winning 500pt force, but it's a playable 500pt force.

I also did a bunch of movement trays and a couple critters for unit fillers, but no pictures there.

The real madness in my opinion is the bowstrings of the most recent elven models. But I agree, on these models adding bowstrings would be a bit too much.

I like the force. It has a very unified feel to it. And the mage is great(especially considering his size). The water effect is lovely. And the details are noticeable enough but not too over the top.

Pictures coming soon. I just finished a unit of swordmasters, a unit of spears, a unit of archers, and 3 units of RBTs along with a general (all warmaster of course). This will bring me to a 1000 point force that's almost legal (2 units of eagles and 2 units of RBT, when I should only have one of each. But I gave up reavers, silver helms, and chariots along with the dragon so I think it's ok).

First pic I saw here was Warmaster, so I knew I had to go back to page 1 and look at everything.

Well not so much Warmaster. But it was a pleasure to look at everything anyway. Particularly those unarmoured archers.

Thanks. Actually painting the warmaster is a fairly new concept for me, but I seem to get sticking with it. There are two units on the table now, along with some mordheim and some nearly finished 3rd edition mounted heros.

I always thought Warmaster was a cool concept, but sadly never got to play it. Looks really cool though, good work on such small models!

It is a great game. I prefer it over even WFB 3rd edition. If you can find people to play the rules are here:
https://www.wm-revolution.com/

There are also a ton of companies making 10mm (15mm is ok too, as long as your group goes with the same size) for affordable prices. The painting is a challange until you get into it.

Thanks. The high elf collection gets closer to complete all the time. Some of the missing ones are starting to be on the hard to find side.

Someday I'll get around to painting the 8th edition stuff, maybe.
