Re: First Time Posting - 2500 Point Star Dragon List.

List looks fine for a beginning player. Got some good variety in there! Prince's kit is unusual but definitely okay. The list overall could certainly be improved, but it's a good start if you have those models all painted up and good to go. Star dragon is such a powerful entity that you'll find he'l...

Re: Birona's Timewarp and great weapons

There's been discussion of this in other threads. Check the tournament FAQ thread, for example. Almost everyone agrees that a model with two copies of ASF and one copy of ASL will strike at its initiative.

US masters 2014 rules this way.

Re: 1500 w/ book and frostie

Can't really find any major fault with this list. Make sure you keep your Archmage's deployment flexible; there might be games where he makes more sense in the Archers. I'd probably choose High over Shadow for this list. I think shadow is better with shooting. WBW will be awesome with your PG, helms...

Re: Nicene's Skycutters - Mighty Empires Interlude

2500 vs O&G Fandex Had a practice game using the list above against my friend's Orcs & Goblins. He was using some modified rules we've been working together on. The lists, roughly: (622 Lords) Prince - barded steed, dragon armor, Ench. shield, Giant blade, Dawnstone, OTS: 292 Loremaster - P...

Re: Is Lifebloom a Resurrection Like Spell?

I asked because I was not sure a unit of trolls could be considered to contain "single models." Rather, it's just a unit. Can you target a unit of Trolls with Spirit Leech?

This comes up often when playing with Lore of the Vampires, and units like Crypt Horrors.

Re: Nicene's Skycutters - Mighty Empires Interlude

I believe my MSU games taught me to really appreciate the fun (and power) of units working together. So this more traditional list (though definitely with my own style built in!) still focuses on units that support each other--the skycutters and phoenix support the two heavy combat units, while the ...

Re: Nicene's Skycutter MSU - Apr 9 (WoC) Complete

Mighty Empires escalation league! Hello all, we've started a Mighty Empires campaign, with a few rules adjustments. Let's see if I can outline them: 1. No "events" like raiding, double-or-nothing, etc. 2.The only way to score a massacre (5 points) is to completely wipe out the enemy army....

Re: Is Lifebloom a Resurrection Like Spell?

So the attribute works on trolls when they have taken 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, and 8 wounds, but not on trolls who taken 3, 6, or 9 wounds? This seems a little strange.

Re: Is Lifebloom a Resurrection Like Spell?

So let's say there is a unit of four trolls, which had lost exactly 3 wounds (meaning exactly one troll has been removed). Are you saying that Lifebloom can be used to restore a wound to that unit? Would you add the fourth troll back to the unit, and note that the unit has two wounds floating on it?

Threadromancy!

Can lifebloom be used to restore wounds to multi-wound models in a unit? Like Trolls, for example. Similarly, can the Vampire lore attribute restore wounds to Crypt Horrors?

Can the center of a unit shift during a combat reform?

What are some good examples of legal and illegal combat reforms? I just don't understand how they're supposed to work.

Yes, this is open to interpretation. Respectable tournaments rule it different ways, so it's something you'll have to house rule.

My group plays that each part of the model tests on its own stat.

That unit puts out 50 str6 attacks.

For that point cost, you could have 4 units of 40 Lions, for 160 str6 attacks.

Re: Tactica: Mage on dragon

I once charged a dragon mage into a summoned unit of zombies about 20 strong. Lost both rider and dragon over about 4 rounds of combat. Mind you, this was the old book so he had a 6+ armor save, and the dragon had only a 5+. Now it's very easy to get 2+ for the mage and 3+ for the dragon. And the br...

Re: Rules with Prince on a Griffon

I agree that each part of the model (rider and monster) takes its own test, but it's good to note that the rule is vague and open to interpretation. I believe many respectable players/tournaments rule that the entire model takes a single test using the highest toughness value present. I presume any ...

40 White Lions

How would you build a list around this unit? Including commmand and BotWD you're looking at exactly 600 points, which is around the same investment as a Star Dragon. I'm thinking you'd want some other durable combat units, who don't need to get into combat quickly. Also some ways to control the move...

Re: HE MSU - 2400 vs Cavalry Prince HE - 30.07

Why did you charge the Phoenix with your Noble? It doesn't add up to me--hitting on 4, wounding on 4, ward save. You're unlikely to wound it even with the star lance. It seems like a hopeless charge... but your opponent decided to flee, so what am I missing? Even if you beat it by one, he's looking ...
