The problem with Metal is the buffs are too weak and/or too hard to cast. Transmutation of Lead is the absolute worst in that regard - 12+ for that small impact is absurd. The spell might be reasonable cast on a 6+, and 8+ is probably about right. Enchanted Blades and Glittering Scales are also hard...
