Re: 9th Age GT Sells Out (Edit: Again)

Interestingly, Cancon, which is traditionally the biggest WHFB event in Australia is going to be 9th age this year. They tried to do 8th, but had much less interest than normal. At the moment it looks like being a 2 day 6 game event with 20-odd players signed up already, even though we're 9 weeks o...

Re: ETC 2016 Votes for 9th Age

Though a very interesting discussion, it doesn't actually mean anything for the 9th age project. I can't judge the truth of the statements of the skill levels of the players (since I don't know them or have played against them). However, it's not true that you need to be the absolute best player to...

Re: The Ninth Age

I think the issue with DP is they were always seen to have a problem with the "Lance Syndrome" and also after they charged, S3 was deemed "useless" especially in the meta of tough and 1+ AS everywhere. Therefore it was the characters doing the heavy hitting (Cav Prince and etc) s...

Re: Rules questions

1) I see nothing in the spell description that would prohibit maneouvres. 2) From the spell wording I believe you roll for each unit separately, which is the way I've always played it at tournaments. 3) The Lizardmen Errata attaches 'Slow to Fire' to the Giant Bow. The FAQ states that this cannot S...

Not impressed either. The lore did not need big changes, and they seem to have thought it did. Also hate the name. High Magic is as generic as Dark Magic, no need to change the name to the silky Path of Valour. Had to change it for IP purposes I'm not enthused by the Path of Valour either. The only...

Re: Shield of the Wyrm

You cannot use Parry whilst you are mounted. So the best you can have is Heavy/Dragon Armour + Shield of The Merwyrm -> 4+/4++ (parry).

You can have a normal ward save.

no. Parry is only when you are non-mounted.

Re: 9th Age discussion and suggestions topic

So in a uncomp environment to balance HE they need a nerf in certain aspect. If were not good they wouldn't need comp or a buff. And they are: point increased for Frostphoenix, banner at 3+, and +1 to hit instead of reroll for ASF. You are misquoting statistical data to fit your theory. Your statem...

Re: Casualties during CC

Ok thank you. So, following your example, if I have the situation where I only have 10 model per unit, but with the same result (5 casualties) I should have the following result: Unit A AAAA <--- 1A each model AAAA <--- 1A each model BBBB <--- 2A each model that strike back XXXX is that right? Re: 9th Age discussion and suggestions topic

First, I've seen in another topic (don't remind where) the score of 2015 ETC. HE, with Banner at 2+ and Frostphoenix at 240, and ASF with rerolls, scored below 10,0. Now banner is at 3+, Frostheart at 275, and (probably) ASF without reroll. Can we agree we don't have to tone down the army any more ...

Re: WE ETC Team Event; C&C Welcome

I prefer to have a trueflight on the scouts (and bigger scouts) to threat warmachine. GG have limited mobility and may not be able to threaten WM. My bases is trueflight is generally better to kill WM as then they can't be shielded. Apart from that I like WW to counter armour. But I guess you have M...

Don't think so...I think it's because the dust isn't settled yet and after September after the Captain's council has made their decision all the other packs will either die out or used for casual games.

Re: ETC 2015

I'm not saying it the end of the world :). Just that we can do some "data-mining" within a relatively limited sample size. With the data-mining we need to minimise variance and make some and/or alot of assumptions. My approach is that a list can be used for any role; not on the assumption ...
