Re: Back into the fray - But what do I do now?
Welcome back :) One thing you could always try is to find the Forces of Fantasy rulebook in the online WH store. It's currently available in the Netherlands at least... That would save you from bowing down to our dark breatheren. As for your list, it's hard to give an exact answer without knowing wh...

Re: 2000pts Double AM + Sister core
I like the list. It's not the strongest by any means, and I can imagine it will struggle against tooled up monster lords. But I love the avoidance feel it has and I think it will pull off some interesting things. It should make your opponent think of what and how to engage. Let us know how it perfor...

Re: Thoughts on Dragon Princes
Grail Knights are T4? I'd missed that. Thanks for pointing it out. I already found the S4 unfair to elves. T4 is just an insult to elves everywhere. I had simply assumed "human model, so T3 default".

Re: Drain magic - useless?
When I played a game against High Elves with a level 4 Archmage on their side, and only two level 2 wizards on my side, it did a good job of shutting down my magic as I consistently failed to roll an 8 on my dispel roll, which is only about a 40% chance or so, and my wizards had little luck beating...

Re: Thoughts on Dragon Princes
I’m afraid the maths is not in our favour. Dragon Princes are roughly equivalent to Grail Knights or Chosen Knights in cost and both of those pack more of a punch and can withstand more damage than Dragon Princes, especially in subsequent rounds of combat, when DP’s strike at the same time as them....

Re: Casting order matters?
That's how it's worded, so that's how it works. The casting order indeed matters here. It's a small detail, and not likely to impact your opponent's dispelling. But I can imagine that when your opponent has something like a scroll it does have an effect.

Re: Drilled Tactica or How to Swordmaster
So, Redress from 7x2 to 2x7, march up 12", wheel 3" (for a 2 wide unit") for a 90°Turn. Being 2x25mm wide you have effectively "advanced the front" by 14" in total. In this case you're actually moving too far. The Redress from 7X2 uses 3'' of "movement" for o...

New FAQs
GW dropped a bunch of new FAQs. Seems like the biggest items resolved in them are being allowed to redress ranks when drilled before charging, and doing so to take you out of Marching Column to let you charg: Q: Although it cannot make a charge move, a unit in Marching Column can declare a charge. W...

Do you have any special rules regarding the growing of the list you need to consider? Or is it just "the next list will be bigger"? Also, what sort of powerlevel are we aiming for? Casual? Themed? Hardcore tournament? I agree that you have at least 1 redirector too many. I would drop the e...

Why are the DPs a waste of points? Do you mean the unit is too big? I can see some logic in that.

If you don't care either way, then why are you arguing for something everyone says doesn't work that way? Why not just accept it's how everyone plays it and move on? If you want more rules: BBB p123, Marching: a marching unit can double it's movement: As in, the moment you double your movement, then...

Re: Tournament 1999pt
I'm wondering if you want more protection on the handmaiden. She's your general. You want her alive, and T3, 6+ save, and 2W means that she's dead the moment something attacks her. I would also consider some kind of weapon on her. You don't need the charmed shield on the BSB. You already have a regu...

Hi guys new here and to pointy ears. I have a rules question: So my general has to be my highest leadership But my highest leadership is my bsb Does my general become someone of lower leadership like my mage or does the world explode ? Re: Drilled Tactica or How to Swordmaster
I agree with anorexia, you would be using marching movement allowance to perform the maneuvre, so it would still be marching "in progress" Good point. Still, Marching and Marching Column just reference doubling or trippling your Movement Characteristic. You could use the first 10" fr...

Its really powerful because it is a remains in play you set it up at the start of the game and let it run , when people wantto dispel it they have to move into range at which point it is to late and they will have to wait till next turn combined with magic res like that on SM it can be very annoyin...

Re: Thoughts on Dragon Princes
Be careful of Night Goblin fanatics. Facing endless stream of them I tend to avoid any low toughness units. Unfortunately, that's most HE units, other than chariots and monsters. We're a glass cannon army. With how long and grinding combats are right now, I'm really skeptical of investing Special u...

Re: Big problems vs Khemri
One answer is combat. If the mage is in combat, then he can't cast the revive spells I think. Then, also focus on taking out whole units instead of just removing a few models. Detroyed units can't be resurected. You're faster than him (since he can't march with most things). So gang up on his units ...

Re: 1500 points vs. Black Orc on Wyvern and Arachnorok spider
Though the Wyvern and the Arachnarok aren't the toughest monsters out there, you do need some way of dealing with them. Chose your preference. I would go with one or two of magic, monster slaying sword, and your own monster, combined with a bigger combat block. Dragon princes are a good, though expe...

Those are great. Very crips and clean. I like how the mage both matches the units in his color scheme and also stands out as an individual character.

Re: The Host of Tor Elithis - A Tale of the Elithesi
Those are some lovely miniatures. Your army examplifies the deadly, regal, and elite look of the Asur. Clean and crips and organized. And it's a large force. How many points can you rougly field? The bits of fluff are also great. I love how they add depth to a story. I do love how a "diplomatic...

Re: 2000 “realistic” and as strong as possible
I think you have too many spearmen and too many points in core to be as strong as possible. The spearmen are still only S3, T3 models. You also don't have a lot of shooting. I would replace one of the spearmen units with 10 archers, which saves you 130 pts. Which is a Lion Chariot, or equivalent. I'...

. The Seaguard are my second secret tech in this ranged war. Whilst the sisters dance at range, the seaguard move up into the mid-board. If my opponent ignores them in favour of chasing after the sisters, they bring themselves into the seaguard's close range. If they shoot the seaguard, however, su...

Re: A new painting blog - OK Army project: Last two Maneaters
For Maneaters, I would personally go a bit less classic. They're meant to have travelled the world, and to have adopted the customs and fashion etc of the lands where they've worked and travelled. Something a bit more outlandish then fits. Maybe an ogre version of something chaos-y or undead-y, give...

If you're bringing this list to a tournament, be sure to check with the tournament organizers if the Warden of Saphery honour allows you to take the armour of Caledor on your archmage. It's something you want to have clear before you start. Other points: there is no reason to put the archers in sepa...

Re: 1500 - turnament with Bretonnian allies
It's an interesting list for sure. I hadn't given too much attention to allies. I guess it could work. I'm just curious if it's a lot of points to ground monsters. And even grounding them isn't all that effective in all cases. For a phoenix with M2 it definitely works. For a M6 dragon? I'm not so su...

Re: 3000 Points against Dark Elves ToW
I wouldn't swap the PG for LSG. The PG are better in almost every way, even if they're 4 points more expensive. Better armour save, 6+ ward save (and 5+ against flaming), better WS and I, Veteran, S4 AP1 AB1 magical attacks. They even cause fear. The LSG will not kill anything important in combat. T...

Nice! These last two do seem to follow the GW mantra of "Skulls! Skulls, skulls and more skulls! Skulls everywhere!"
I like them. They're flavorfull and blend in nicely with the rest of the unit, even though they're very individual models.
What are you planning for the banner?
