So what do you guys think of the High Elves roster for TWW2?
https://www.totalwar.com/blog/high-elf-army-roster/
They have main infantry units in there like SM, WL and PG, but we're also missing some cool new editions, with Sisters being the big missing.

Re: Holy hell High Elves
Its been quite a ride, true! Great to hear from you, have fun with TW - I've no time for video games these days, but its one I'd love to give a go. Heard Battlefleet Gothic is coming out - that might be something for you, given the history with xwing? As in, BFG for Table-top again? If so, I'd love...

Holy hell High Elves
Just checking in.. you know.. because I used to play a crap ton of WHFB in 6-8th with High Elves and hung around here. A lot has changed since then: > 8th Ed died out, AoS came and went, and now AoS is on the rise again after they brought back points. > I actually sold off all my High Elves.. which ...

Re: Warhammer 9th edition?!
From the Danish community there are a group of people, including but not limited to El Rey (who by the way has his own 9th age project in competition with Furions), who are in the process of a large badmouthing campaign aimed at Furion. Examples: -Everything Furion has done in regard to ECT has fai...

That's pretty much all I have to say about 9th Ed.
I'll have to take a more indepth look into the overall design approach tonight.

Re: The Ninth Age
It'd be interesting to have your professional input into the discussions, although be aware before you start that you'll be one fish amongst thousands, which I think is part of the motivation for going solo/small group. Except, only a few fish swim in the right direction, and those tend to stand ou...

Re: Warhammer 9th edition?!
I do agree that this is a good time for the community to step up and pick up the no longer supported products.
I do have a question though Furion:
Are you working with the 9th Age guys at all? Have they been taking your feedback for the books and balance solutions?

Re: The Ninth Age
So really quick, is this Furion's? Is this ETC? Is this by the Swedes? It would be nice if EVERYONE stopped making their own and the entire WHFB community helps create one together. Also, I'd love to have a helping hand in this. I just don't have the time to run an entire project by myself any more,...

Re: The rules
Yeah, the basic mechanics are ok, if a bit simple (not that 8th ed is chess or anything). The balance is the factor that makes it a non-game. I'll repost an interview with one of the designers of Age of Sigmar - http://captiongenerator.com/48861/Age-of-Sigmar-interview#.VZ980riDnVE.twitter Video do...

Re: The rules
Played my first AoS battle today, Highelves vs Dwarfs n Empire. We did some small adjustments, basically we agreed on how many shooty units we took, 5 hero choises each, and we tried to Keep the armies some what balanced. Btw! We also didnt use sudden death rules. And we played turns like 8th editi...

Re: Proposed Game Size and Balancing Approach
Generic blanket army limitations do not work. It does not account for individual army power in relation to another army.

Re: The rules
One UK TO is running 8th but writing his own rules for the Stormcast Eternals. Interesting, but it's dangerous territory. My rules don't aim to make stuff up, or add point costs, it just works with what's there and puts a few limitations here and there. Simple, clean, to the point. Balance with a s...

Re: The rules
Hero you asked which of your rule sets we prefer, but to me the two sets look like they are complimentary rather than alternatives. I like them both together. In a way, yes. However, you risk running into oddities like the Tiranoc Chariot, which has 5 wounds, but is not really classified as "r...

Are you actually warming to the game HERO? ;) They look like decent suggestions to me. It would give some idea of what's going on in terms of balance without overcomplicating stuff too much. Re: The rules
/Designer cap on The LoS model is to make sense visually as much as it is applicable ingame. Heroes on foot mixed into a unit is more difficult to hit, thus a 2+ LoS makes more sense. Horse sized targets are easier to hit, hence the need for 4+. A dragon, well, is freaking large man. I'm sorry to hi...

Re: The rules
Hi, I would like to add some generic rules: -Heroes on foot can join units to gain a 2+ Look out Sir! heroes on horses get a 4+ look out sir big heroes on flying stuff is shit out of luck -models are in combat if they're in base to base -Shooting units must use melee weapons if within 2" of an ...

The 3-4 games I saw today was basically giant cluster pile-ins in the middle. These were good players playing too, not just random scrubs.

Re: Initial AoS Game Results, Thoughts, and Suggestions
First, I recommend using wound values a balance unit some sort of comp comes out. First, no. That's incredibly simplistic and unrealistic. 15 wounds from slaves is not the same from 5 Blood Knights. Also, what is this comp you speak of? Who will lead and write it? It has to be universally agreed by...

Re: Elegant house rule for fielding army
If you take into account ONLY the wounds it doesn't work, but if you bound wounds and minimum number of models I think it can be a solution. Look at your wrong example: 12 wounds match: then you can't field the dragon; you have to field 2/3 models on the total wounds of your army. Bigger game? Then...

Re: Warscrolls
Like any game system in can be broken by players who wish to break it. It is in fact similar to Magic the Gathering in as much as if an opponent brings a Flying Deck do I have a set of cards (miniatures) that can counter this? I seriously can't tell if you're being serious. A lot of game companies ...

Re: Warscrolls
Who cares about the wounds. 12 wounds of clan rats is not the same as 12 from a Dragon. And that's exactly why those attempts at "balance" will fail. Maybe someone will come up with something that works, but I don't understand the lengths people are willing to go to support a company that...

Re: Elegant house rule for fielding army
It's a good idea. I think it is better to bound wounds and models (for example: models has to be 2/3 minimum of the wounds of the army). I'm Not good with numbers and proportions, someone maybe can do better. This isn't the first time I've heard this, and it won't be the last. Wounds doesn't work f...

Yes, I'm telling you to calm down. I have gone through those things, sorry but most of us have. I have like 3 grand in D&D miniatures that no one plays the actual game that came with it for. I've gone through the past 3 editions of Warhammer. I have roleplaying systems that I'd love to play tha...
