Incredible painting.

IMO that Phoenix is not an attempt at freehand, it's a success!

Little (fluff) question though: where's his sword? (Because his scabbard is empty)

Re: Magnets and Storage Question

@Eagle: Does that work? I mean, you can actually superglue uncured greenstuff to things and they play nice together? Does it alter the hardness or cure time of the green stuff noticeably? They play extremely nice together. I actually got this from an old issue of White Dwarf, where they used it to ...

Re: Magnets and Storage Question

You could superglue the greenstuff into the bases after it pops out. Or before it pops out. Put a drop of superglue on your base, add your blob of greenstuff, put a drop of superglue on that and then press in your magnet so it's flush with the bottom. Guaranteed to be one of the strongest bonds you...

Less cotton-wool at the top, and more at the bottom, like it's fog rolling out of the gate.

But it's already a pretty great piece of terrain.

Re: Ideas for colour scheme (new army)

I think it also depends on whether you'll be playing legacy 8th or Age of Sigmar.
A paint scheme that works well for big ranked-up blocks might not be as suited for looser formations and vice versa.

For now all three ideas sound interesting to see.

I won't comment on the magnet issue (since I haven't managed to magnetize my own models yet, so I haven't got any knowledge to impart :P) Paperclip thickness depends on the model of paperclip you have, the heavy duty ones are obviously going to be thicker than regulars. I'd advise you to work in the...

That NMM is impressive, especially for a first try.
I think the darks and highlights should be a bit more extreme though.

Those are some mean-looking squirrels.

I agree about putting in a mix of tail-types.

Re: True Scale High Elves - Testing new colour scheme

That hero is amazing! (I miss Eltharion the blind too, so much cooler than the Grim version) The running swordmaster needs some flappy cloth, IMO. (High Elves = robes, no?) Not a skirt, that would hide the 'action legs', more like a long raincoat type of thing. The paint on that Seaguard is incredib...
