Re: Calling all female wargamers
Friend of mine victoria. She played in two reasonably competetive tournaments i went to (well one i went to and one i was involved in running). Took home 2 best painted awards too... one of which she was so far ahead of the field the anouncement was pointless.

Re: Pit of shades doesnt work against runemaw banner
Though you get around it by targetting the very corner of the gnoblar unit that is near the runemaw (it has to be pretty close for the maw to work). this gives you a good chance of making some initiative tests be taken on the guts.
Then you cast mindwayzor

Re: Im after 1500 points of filth.
If you keep the archers 10 wide you get as many (or more) attacks as the seaguard. you also don't really give your opponent that many more attacks. Additionally, if you need to go thin to win combat with LSG/be steadfast, you can do the same with archers (odds on the extra 10 attacks will be negligi...

Re: Moon Dragon for 2400 tournament
one advantage of the armour of silvered steel is that it isn't dragon armour, so by telling your opponent you have heavy armour they assume you don't have the armour of caledor and thus you must have the banner of the world dragon and werre trying to save 2 points.

Re: Im after 1500 points of filth.
1) drop the seaguard for archers, you get more for your points and they get about as many attacks at the same strength (a 5+ save is negligible). Plus the extra range. After all since you are going 10 wide most of the time the archers do the same job as the seaguard. 2) drop the 10 pg they are doing...

keith: do you actually read people's posts before quoting them and responding.
The person you thought to belittle said that if you take a wound from a flaming source and have a ward save, then no matter what you can't use your regeneration save on those wounds.
Read things maybe?

Re: What should i do in this situation?
Takes a leadership test, no big deal in the first turns, if you can draw the general away it tends to go meandering off (oh, and put something so it needs to roll a 12 to charge every turn, has to take a leadership test or lose the turn)

Re: What should i do in this situation?
I wouldn't try to redirect in that turn, i'd leave it till the next one where you can combat stuff more effectively. On the redirecting front the trick is to sacrifice the eagle. You point it in such a way that if your foe charges it he is forced to either reform, losing a turn's movement or overrun...

Re: Flaming attacks and ASF
Keith: well done for stating my question from a page ago. Re: Flaming attacks and ASF
Assurion: that i think is a losing argument (heavens help me i think i agree with keith). As keith has parrotted for two pages all saves are taken in a single step. So armour, ward and regen are all esolved at once. So either all flaming-wounds (ie pre-saves) stop regen, or regen is only stopped aft...

Re: Double Dragons? and chariot lists?
1) 2000 if you really want to (in fact at 2000 it might be viable) 2)Princes on dragons are ok, they still eat cannonballs and whatnot as they used to, but they also can't run through block infantry, are razorprone and have to be careful about getting tied down as many things become horrifying with ...

Re: Flaming attacks and ASF
Ok So we've reduced the issue to the question of "If a model with regeneration suffers a flaming wound, but saves it with it's armour save, does that wound still cancel regeneration for the phase". This issue is contentious and we do not have a definitive answer on the subject (has anyone ...

Re: Cxt #4 - 2500pts vs. Dark Elves
@dabber: i was assuming a ward save (i couldn't find items anywhere) and i was aiming to maximise the archmage's survivability (he's in trouble, and thats the safest place for him). As an aside i don't think the steeds get to reroll hits any more. @cxt: i find its often useful to declare charges i k...

Keith: that has no bearing on the actual discussion. That post is dangerously close to spam. We all understand the ideas of simultaneousness (or at least most of us do) and that, as i've said multiple times is not the issue in question.

Re: Cxt #4 - 2500pts vs. Dark Elves
Turn 1: you've mis-angled the eagle (as you know) and wasted the other (i'd be saving that eagle for my plan for next turn) turn 2: you should use the DP to sharge the crossbows, if they stand then you'll run them off the table, which is good, if they flee you redirect into the spears and use the ea...

I wouldn't, i'd go for one or the other as both tend towards different list styles and you end up with a neither here nor there list.
If i'm going for a bow prince i do it on a horse.

Re: 2500 competitive list. need help from the pros
Soulblight gives you redundancy. This way if you need to drop something's toughness/strength you have two spells to cast to do so. I've found the character sniping spells don't actually get that much mileage when i'm using death.

soulblight.. my favourite spell in the list, really turns combats, plus it can help your shooting phase so its handy every turn. (and the boosted version can win you games)

Re: Flaming attacks and ASF
Keith: Did you actually read anything on the first page of this entire thread? I made an argument using the wording in the rulebook (to do with the fact that it talks about models that are wounded may try to save themselves and that being wounded and suffering a wound are not the same things). I als...

Re: Flaming attacks and ASF
Keith: Because the question is whether or not you count as being wounded before you fail your armour save. Re-read my post, its not about taking the saves in a specific order, its about the wording of the rulebook, and the precedent it sets on being wounded before you take the save.
