That was merely a rumor.

I too would prefer the chariot, but then again I'd say I'm quite biased towards them.

I'll put the warbanner in the spears instead, no big deal. annoying though.
Yep... my High Elf playing friend was quite disappointed in that little tidbit, even more so than the move to Special.

Re: strongest army for 1000 points?

If you're using the eagle primarily for march blocking you might as well equip it with Reaver Bow, Full Mundane, Lance. I'd then drop the caddy to bump up both DP units to 6 and give one of them Banner of Ellyrion + Amulet of Light.

Re: Pegasus as Great Eagle

Well, there is the Dark Elf Pegasus... it has this neck girdle thing but other than that I think it is unarmored. Gamezone Miniatures also has a Pegasus + Sorceress model which is pretty nice. You could also just get a normal horse and add Pegasus wings to it. GW store sells them as separate bits on...

Re: A little Cathayan project

Well, most of my information is coming from a fan-made Warhammer: Orient supplement. In it Samurai are not said to come from either Cathay or Nippon exclusively, so I'm assuming they are present in both nations. In any case it isn't of much consequence for my purposes.

If anything this is a problem with the BRB, not the Dark Elf book.

A little Cathayan project

Alright, I'm planning to make a small troope of Cathayan fighters. The plan is to have one Samurai leading a group of four Kensai, and the main color is orange to fit a theme. The Kensai are disciples of the Heaven's Lightning martial art, and they are all followers of Vimtao. The Samurai will be eq...

The World Dragon would be much better in the Swordmasters, as currently they have no magical protection. The Phoenix Guard's 4+ ward is a pretty strong deterrent for most magic as it is.

Watering down paints

Alright, so just about everyone knows that watering down paints is very effective for painting nice clean miniatures. However, I find that when I water them down (about 50:50) some brush strokes appear to be more water than paint while others appear to be more paint than water. Am I missing somethin...

Lightning doesn't 'slow down', it just takes the path of least resistance. If you are it, then you are it... simple as that. Although in a car I'd think it would rather travel through the metallic parts.

One thing about your Dark Elf game: the Executioners cannot hold the Ring of Hotek. It is impossible as the champion is not allowed any magic items.

Tough luck with the poor Ogres player, but what can you do... some people are just like that.
