Ugh! Don't like the attribute need at all! I would have rather they left the lore as is rather than nerf the attribute.

Re: Did tournament players kill Warhammer?

No! Tournament players did not kill the game. GW killed the game. They killed the game in a number of ways. 1. Failed to support tournaments. (remember the old Rogue Trader tournaments?) 2. Failed to provide rules that would encourage players to bring different types of units to a game instead of th...

Re: Revised 8th Edition - need game designers

Just curious why this thread isn't getting more posts. I would think those that don't like AOS and want to keep WHFB alive would be very interested in doing this. A couple of suggestions from me. 1. Allow steadfast to be broken by: Monsters/ridden and unridden when they charge the flank or rear and ...

Re: What does AoS mean for WHFB?

I'm salty I will keep playing 8th although I will probably try the new rules GW doesn't hate it's players. They are just trying to stay a viable company. Let's face it 8th was becoming VERY stale. There were great things about 8th but at least in this area we saw the same lists all the time. Guys ga...

Re: 9th Edition rumours

Hmmm.... It's beginning to sound a little too generic for me. What I loved about the warhammer universe was the variety in backgrounds and rules for the various races. I might be able to use my models but will my models all have the unique and different feeling that they have now? Sigh... I guess we...

Does he also have cannons? If so the reavers are a good choice. I also vote for some bolt throwers. They can seriously damage the knights and griffins. I also second the lore of metal. It will scare the crap out of him and leave him in a quandry for dispelling.

Why can't Teclis be in a unit with BOWD? Is that an ETC ruling or has something come from GW?

Re: How 9th edition could be Awesome!

In that case I would advise you to stop playing WH and find a new hobby. Balance is an illusion. It is impossible to balance 15 unique races each with 30 or more different units. This gives over 450 units. If you want to balance all of thI ese against each other unit then you have more then 200,000...

Re: How 9th edition could be Awesome!

Just make me a game where I can play with whatever I want and still have fun and be competative. Let me play with my skycutters and spearmen. Let me play with my dragon mage or griffin. I'm really sick and tired of having really cool releases only to discover I can't really use them because they are...

Re: 9th Edition "Rumours" (and reactions to them)

Well one thing I WON'T do is rebase my models. I won't be going to any major tournaments that would require round bases. I'll stick with local stuff and play with my square and rectangular bases. I've put far too much time into my stuff to do it all over again. I'm not getting any younger and I way ...

Hmmm... You have a good point on the Banners. I think Iwill switch it up. The biggest reason I took Allarielle was for the 5+ ward for the unit. One thing I've learned is that for whatever reason I totally suck at wounding stuff. This has been the bane of my existence in warhammer. I desparately nee...

Tactic tips needed to defeat Empire

Hi all, I am going to play a VERY hard Empire Army. He wins just about every tournament we play in and I really want to beat him with my army. I don't know if it is possible but some tactical advice would be helpful. Here is what I have. Alarielle Loremaster-Book of Hoeth, Golden Crown Noble-BSB Dra...

Re: Swordmasters and White Lions

If you play with an infantry list you HAVE to build everything with that in mind. Which means your magic shooting characters and magic items all should geared towards getting your units into combat. Part of that is also having parts of your army that are threatening enough that your opponent has to ...

Re: Archer formations?

I've been using the 6x3 formation. I use two of them in tandom and putting out 36 shots actually does some damage to a lot of stuff. Particularly if they are boosted with high magic.
I was actually surprised at their effectiveness.

Re: Is MSU dead?

I believe shooty-heavy MSU is worth exploring. It allows us to put up a fight at a distance against some enemies, while (hopefully) dodging others. The main problems I see with this approach are two-fold: 1. Being outgunned. If you cannot contain your losses, this is one of the worst things that ca...

Re: New High Magic - your views?

Yeah I like Drain Magic. I pretty much always take it when facing a 4th level mage. (Which is almost all the time.) Being able to dispel those spells that last until the next turn is really great. In the last tourney I played in it was great to be able to dispel that regeneration on units I wanted t...

Ok, after a brief hiatus I am back on this topic. Some of you have asked about my list in trying to ascertain whether or not my MSU army is dead. Hey thanks for the input. My group around here seem to LOVE the overpowered uber lists. So even though I don't, it appears that I won't have much choice going forward with the new rules sets. My current incarnation will get owned by the new rules. I stood a chance under the old rules and took 2nd in...

Teclis and the Queen?

What are your thoughts on Teclis and the queen? It would seem on the surface to be a pretty powerful combo. If you took Teclis with high magic and the queen with life magic al i ng with the banner of Avelorn r hat would give. Teclis a +6 to cast high magic and the queen would get +8 for casting life...

Not sure if this belongs here or another spot but I was feeling a little frustrated at the new 50% characters rules. Re: On unit based play and 50% characters

Boring boring boring. I think having 50% lord characters allowance dumbs down the game even further and it eliminates a lot of choices and variety. The beauty of warhammer in my opinion is the variety of lists that can be built. Say goodbye to MSU. Say hello to maxed out warmachine lists. I do under...

Re: The Flames of Lothern - A Planned Army

While his is a great themed army it is severely lacking in punch. I would drop one of the Seaguard units and get a unit of either white lions or Swordmasters. Without bolt throwers you lack anything to take on 2+ armor or hight toughness things.
