Re: Solith's painting log of eternal distractions

http://i.imgur.com/88y5X83.jpg?1 I am disappointed by the lack of progress in this thread. I have managed to make and even finish a Tyrion conversion. It's inspired by someone else's conversion (I can't remember who  ). http://i.imgur.com/UYDBGFo.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/mp0nsMT.jpg?1 http://...

I really like your painting. You do white exceptionally well which is quite the achievement.

All that aside, using the Solitaire's magical effect thingy (with all the diamonds) on the Loremaster is just... my mind = blown. =D> =D>

Re: Filler

If the gap is too big for liquid green stuff, then green stuff itself might be the answer.

The trick is, let it cure/set properly - 24hours or more. You can also mix it with more blue and it'll set slightly harder - and therefore more sand-able.

I'm very impressed with just how colourful everything you paint is. That Loremaster especially. It's such a straightforward conversion but it's tons better than the original. =D>

Re: Commitment issues - To all my elves [PLOG]

Those are some really nice conversions, and that's a very impressive collection you have there. (Any chance of a full army picture at some point?) As for where to begin - the answer is almost always going to be 'the thing you want to paint the most'. (Or 'the thing you most want to see painted', or ...

Re: Solith's painting log of eternal distractions

@Ferny Thanks! I think it's technically possible to make it look like the design has been woven or embroidered into the cloth, but that'd involve painting in the texture of the cloth etc and there's no way i'm going to that extreme. But yeah, I agree that banners aren't generally that realistic. I g...

Re: New on high elves

Welcome :D Firstly, it's a good start. An entire army painted like those two models will look great, so if you simply keep to that standard then you're doing it right. I don't have much experience painting red so I can't really comment on techniques/colours etc, but red and High Elves can go togethe...

That's one lucky friend you have. :D I really like how well the pale blues and silver work together - it's a simple colour scheme but visually quite stunning and gives them a slightly ethereal look.

You could even say that he's a bit of a card... Okay that was awful. @Tzineris Thanks! I think you're right in that the neck is slightly too long, but I also think the pose is one that would stretch/expose his neck so it's not as out of proportion as it seems. I think that's the first map-based display board I've come across and it works incredibly well - to the point that it completely explains the whole three kingdoms background you have and the reasoning behind the three different colour schemes etc. without you having to say anything extra. =D>

I have a unit of Warlocks nearly done which I could submit. However I also have a converted Master and some converted Dark Riders in various stages of being built, and with the time left I may end up with either of those finished in time to submit instead.
