Re: Secret Santa 2013
Sorry, I've been under the pump at uni and been unwell. Still haven't received it. It's a shame, because the pictures on Facebook look amazing. I think it's permanently lost. Considering locations and where it would have had to be sent, I don't think it's ever going to arrive.

Of course they're cannon fodder. If they had joined the Shining Light of Heaven like the rest of Asia, they wouldn't be having this problem.

Re: Asarion's HE B/C/Paint Log. [Secret Santa 30/12/13]
Well this has been keeping me occupied recently, hence the lack of HE updates since Secret Santa. They're the same overall faction as Elessehta's, however the main factions are also broken down in sectorials, most have two, but they're expanding over time. Unlike Elessehta, who has the Japanese Sect...

What White are you using? It looks powdery. Not even the lumpyness usually associated with not thinning your paints properly.

Re: Discussion of the state and future of GW (Most notably WHFB)
Well, lets put anecdotal evidence here. Last year was the first time in a long time that I haven't indulged in purchasing HE new releases. They priced me out on the HE release. I was keen on buying the Shadow Warriors, but when it was $70 for a box of 10 with just some spare parts, I just couldn't j...

Re: Test models after a long hiatus!
As for tips, find something that works for you. An example: Some people do their highlights by feel and make their gradients themselves etc. That doesn't work for me, might have something to do with how I like formulas. My painting relies on rules and conventions. Case in point, edge highlighting. I...

Re: In the Mists and Shadows of Yvresse.
Yeah, of course, only the link leader can 'act' in the active turn. Eg fire. But the whole team moves as a group, you can swap leaders with an order. But a 5 man team has Sixth Sense L2, +1 Burst, and +3 BS. Each bonus dependant on how many guys you have in a team. It helps to make up for the limite...

Re: In the Mists and Shadows of Yvresse.
Link teams are a special rule for Sectorials such as JSA or ISS. Where a group of similar minis can be part of a team of 3 (min) to 5. Each extra member of the team gives bonuses to the link, a single order activates the whole team. But yeah, start with basic rules and build up.

They're looking really good. I like how you've gone with the official Chinese colours as opposed to the standard JSA colours. I'm almost done with the CG part of my first ISS link team (I currently have 3 potential link teams built and waiting for paint). I'll have to get some pics of them during th...

RE: the missile launcher, it works in the simple colours of real world weaponry, greys or olive greens, both would work with this mini. It's not like the MSR's where you have the scopes to paint up, but as HE players, we can treat them like dark gems and we're used to them.

Great stuff! Have you had any opposition from your gaming stores or anywhere else with respect to playing a non-GW piece? Or do you find most people let you field whatever models you like? Great paint job - an inspiration to us all! I haven't attempted a dragon yet but after seeing your results I'd...

And one of the brown washes if it's too bright for you.

Oh do I ever have them numbered, it's the only way to save yourself drama.
And thanks Nagashias. If you have any questions about some of my colours, I'm more than happy to help. I write down nearly all my recipes for colours in my plog so when I take a break, I can always pick it back up.

Here's a relevant picture of how I did mine. You just have to arrange it when you're glueing them to their bases.

My problem (and I probably would have made some bids) is that you list as only posting to the UK, which as an Australian doesn't work for me. Also whether or not you combine shipping.

Prince looks pretty good, nice and neat painting, not sure if it's the light in the photo or not, but hopefully you haven't varnished the mini yet. Just some small edge highlights on the mini would be enough to make him pop, as it is now the green looks a little dark and flat. An easy way to do edge...
