Drop the PG, they are more durable and will end up with full attacks by the time they reach combat. Nice list btw I think thats pretty decent.

Fraction of the cost, same prowess shooting and warmachine hunting.
Could flank charge weak units.

Just don't see the Annointed being point effective.

Our local gaming forums just had the similar debate and we landed on the side of using the Generals leadership. Unless the power reads as Unmodified leadership all bonus's etc would apply because at the time of the test that is the units leadership.

Againist warmachines like that, deploying in two ranks really wide might be the way to go. Its kinda lame but will save quite a few kills i'm sure.

Interesting point, might be useful vs my WoC opponents, if hes hiding a mage I cold direct some asf attacks vs the champion and when I kill him the mage pops forward.

What about following the Pheonix Guard with a group of 10 archers (stay within 10 inches of the mage) so on the turn they are closing on combat he can fall back to the archer unit. The huge group of 30 archers, what were they shooting at all this time. I kept expecting to read somewher eyou were decimating units of undead. Were shots always at the vargulf? Do you wish you had 30 spearmen in stead?

Read the unit size of g.eagles apparently its max of 1. Well damn, so much for my wing of eagles.

Probably not the most competitive but I've been enjoying using a noble on a great eagle (modified IOB griffon model) in with two other great eagles as a flanking unit (See it as a Sky Calvary Unit). Comes in at about 275 pts and provide a hard hitting rear charge unit.
