Looking pretty slick there Tinman. Gotta love when your first commission comes in the colors you would have slapped on him for your own army

Re: High Elf Army For Sale
Hi Guys, This is a bump post but also an update to the original. I have changed my mind on selling as whole so am also willing the trade as per an arrangement made with Asurion. I traded away the two great eagles from the original post and am willing to take other offers on what's remaining: 5 Metal...

You could always do a blue-grey helmet as opposed to purple. It would likely draw away from the all over grey but not take away the brighter blue.

Re: High Elf Army For Sale
Hi Guys, To answer your questions Asurion the three bolt throwers are all plastic models. One of them is painted a lurid blue but looks like it could be stripped as easily as any other paints. The Prince model is the standard one from the kit. Assembled with sword and shield. The BSB has also been a...

High Elf Army For Sale
Hi Guys, Due to circumstances beyond my control my local gaming buddies have moved away from WHFB and so I no longer have a use for two separate armies. Therefore I'm looking to sell my HElves and I know you guys are the ones that would be interested. I have the following packed delicately in a box ...

Re: Milliardo's Mental Anaphylaxia
@Swordmaster I have to agree again with your comments on Subotai, but more generally on Mongol war tactics throughout history. As far as Roman legions were concerned they were a pitiful failure when compared to the "hordes" of Mongols. They have had the most flexibility and adapted to all ...

Re: GW and price increases
Its kind of a killer market to be involved in really. GW has to keep the price of production v. expected sales at a balance in order to see profit and please the share holders. But because they keep raising the dollar value of individual models their "loyal" fans are jumping ship more and ...

I too want to further comment on the Blitzkreig or "offensively offensive" tactic. I like to lure my opponents into making the moves I want them to make and then capitalizing on them. If this means I have to use one unit as a killdeer and limp its way across the field into the waiting jaws...

If you use the advanced search and change the categories to wargames/miniatures and search angel you get three or four pages of results. Some are obviously going to be dark angel of death type stuff but a lot of its pretty cool. If this is "secret" does this mean we all have to wait patien...

Re: What are people's thoughts on tomb kings?
I have heard it said (on the interwebz, so to be taken with a grain of salt...) that the special characters in the TK improve their play massively. Almost to the point where they seem designed as being instrumental to their book. And not in the Teclis OP blow up in your face kind of instrumental. B...

Re: The Cavalry Prince - List Design, Tactics, Battle Reports
Seredain and Galrauch stared at each other across the open field and said their particular racial equivalents of “Next time, Gadget. Next time...” This pretty much sums up that entire combat. It was still a pretty cool match-up to read. Congrats to Eldria for the win but it was definitely close. Ma...

Re: Brewmaster D's Coven of Light Blog - 05/07 Double Header!
D, Given that almost all the lizard lists I've seen you play have included a large block of something (this could be TG or Saurus), would you feel less confident if a lizzie player approached the table with an MSU-based list. I can't help but feel this would limit your uses of banishment. And a ligh...

Gw Paints
Just for those interested and who don't already know, it appears GW has the new paints released on the website. Not sure that this is the best forum for this news but it makes the most sense. Looks like GW plans on saving you the need to blend paints for shading. There are now close to 15 colors of ...

Re: Brewmaster D's Coven of Light Blog - Updated Battle 02/24
I think if you're going to plan on using the Reavers as another speed bump, then having them cheaper than DPs is key. Curu has been having awesome luck without them in his Dragon list and I can't see it hurting yours any either. I don't think you've sacrificed anything that makes your 2500pt list so...

Having read the beastmen book a couple of times I haven't seen too much to be scared of either. They are a mobile army but since you out-deployed and out-maneuvered him there wasn't much to the army. Congrats on the win Curu! Clearly didn't miss the DPs here either.

Re: In praise of the Talisman of Loec
Would this not mean that "re-roll any successful saves" could be interpreted as this character now auto-fails all rolls. Because every successful one needs re-rolling? Just a noob ish question but that's how it reads. Unless it only means re-roll the first of each successful save. I dunno.

Re: Brewmaster D's Coven of Light Blog - New Tactics Article
I like the write up D! Makes a lot of sense. How do you think the coven would work in a mobile format? In the recent White Dwarf they mounted a Mage and ran it in a dragon prince unit. Got me thinking one archmage on foot and two mounted level ones might be fun if a little expensive.

The glade guard of the WE have some of the same minor details that give your models some pop. The ends up the bows are capped in metal (looking at the GW example models on website). So maybe there? And the cloaks are held on by a small gem.. I'm sure you'll find the way to make it pop

Yeah I plan on doing washes and highlights to bring out the detail. I agree that a darker skin might do the trick too. I hadn't thought of doing that. Might make the browns and bones on him stand out better too.

Re: KO's Motivation Page (Updated 11/01/2012) - Colors Question
So this is my practice model for painting some Orcs and Goblins I received. I want to go with a black and yellow theme on the Orcs but I'm not sure if I've used too much yellow and drawn away from the rest of the model. I also am not sure what color to paint the background of the flag. I think I mig...

Chariots in Place of Cavalry
Hey Guys, So I was reading through Tethlis' blog today and I came across an old but interesting post on Lion Chariots vs. DPs. Re: Sea Elves: High Elves of the Southern Seas
Yeah I like this. It's kind of like taking cool elements from all the elves. I still think there is something missing =\. It might be as simple as missing elements of speed with only reavers and flyin units? But I guess the elves are quick on their own.

Re: Brewmaster D's Coven of Light Army List Blog - Updated ToC
This is about what I expected for an answer. I've got enough models now to build a 2500 point list easily. But I want to either buy a box each of PG and WL or two of one or the other. If I bought the box each I'd have an MSU force of 10 WLs and 20 PG or I'd end up with 30 PG or 20 WL. But I knew tha...

Re: Olannon's Guide to Battle Chronicler
I use the blue marker for an augment, the red marker for a hex and the black marker for a miscast. If the miscast is a template, I usually add an explosion as well. This is kind of cool. If we all followed similar modus operandi on our reports it would increase comprehension of what happened each t...
