High Elves vs Khorne
By Lord Anathir
Khorne:
Chaos Lord, Armour of Damnation (2+ Armour, 4+ Ward), DRAGON
6 Chosen Knights, Full Command, Aspiring Champion
6 Knights, Full Command
1 Cannon (not hell-cannon)
6 Flesh-hounds of Khorne
5 Marauder Horsemen
6 Dogs (dunno their exact name)
6 Dogs
8 Daemonettes (I think that’s what they were) (or furries...?)

High Elves:
19 Spears wFC
18 Spears wFC + Commander, H.A, Reaver Bow
2 Chariots
2 RBT
5 Scouts
10 Silverhelms wFC + War Banner
5 Silverhelms w Champ + BSB, Battle Banner
10 Swordmasters w Champion, Blessed Tome
2 Eagles
5 Reavers

Deployment:

My opponent knows how to play Khorne quite well, so he deployed his 6 dogs of war right in front of his knights so I could not control his frenzy. Battle Line from left to right:
Knights, Dogs (in front), Dragon, Flesh-hounds, Chosen Knigts, Dogs (in front), Deamonettes, Cannon, Horsemen.

My Battle Line from left to right:
10 Silverhelms, 10 Swordmasters, 5 Reavers (in front of Swords), Eagle, 19 Spears, 19 Spears, 5 Scouts (in front of both units of spears), Eagle, Chariot, Chariot, 2 RBT (on hill), 5 Silverhelms +BSB)

Turn 1:
He wins first turn, he moves everything up full distance, his daemonettes holding back for the rest of the force. His dragon moved right in front of my first block of spears. His cannon shot through the one inch gap between his daemonettes and dogs and fried my eagle, as he rolled a 6 for damage. His dragon incinerated a reaver, a scout, and 7 spearmen. My scouts failed their terror test despite the LD 10 from general and blessed tome, and fled off the table. My knights attempted to charge the deamonettes in hope of redirecting/overrunning into the chosen knights, but they fail their fear test. I was plagued with bad leadership rolls all game, and it was the primary reason why I did not get more than a minor victory. I move my eagle to marchblock on half of his line, and my reavers the other half. My RBT and reaverbow inflicted two wounds on the Dragon, he rolled a 4 on his lord’s ward save, after I wounded him with an RBT.

Turn 2:
He charged the block of spearmen that had lost 7 elves in the last round with his dragon. He charged one of my bolt throwers with his daemonettes. He moved his fast cav around my BSB unit within 3 inches of my second RBT. He moved everything else within charging distance. His cannon misfired but was not destroyed. My RBT crew failed their fear test and fled off the table. I challenged the dragon with my unit champion, and he caused 5 overkill. I lost combat by one, but passed my LD test.

In my turn, I charged his flesh hounds with my second block of spears. I charged his dogs in front of his chosen knights with my 2 chariots, and his chosen knights in the flank with my BSB unit. In shooting I shot 4 of the marauder horsemen, the last one fled. In combat, my two chariots destroyed the dogs, the spearmen won combat against the flesh hounds but did not break them. The Silverhelm unit killed the chosen knight on the flank, and the BSB killed one, and proceeded to auto-break the knights and chase them down. And in the most ironic combat of the game, I challenged the dragon with my commander. He only caused 3 overkill, and I WON combat with my musician. He than FAILED his break test and fled away 9 inches! But I rolled a six and did not catch him. I would have preferred that unit to have lost combat and fled off the board with the dragon overrunning off the board too.

Turn 3:
He rallied his dragon, and charged my swordmasters with his dogs. He moved up his knights putting them into a position for a flank charge from my BSB unit and 10 SH unit. His daemonettes charged and destroyed my 2nd RBT. The spearmen destroyed the flesh-hounds. The dogs lost combat against the swords, fled. I attempted a restrain, but failed a ld 10 roll AGAIN and plodded 4 inches forward, right in between his knights flank and my 10 SH unit. The dragon ironically landed inbetween the knights other flank and my BSB unit, preventing that charge.

I moved the swordmasters forward, and moved my reavers and eagle toward the cannon. I moved my chariots towards the combat. I wheeled my BSB unit out of the charge arc of the dragon, preventing it from charging anything the next turn. My spearmen units wheeled to face the knights. The dogs ran off the board.

Turn 4:
His knights charged my smaller spearmen unit (the one that was in combat vs the Dragon). His dragon landed beside my 10 Silverhelm unit. His cannon shot down one of my knights in the BSB unit, and the dragon cooked 1 knight in the other unit. The knights broke the spears, and pursued off the board. The other spearmen unit failed their terror test and fled towards the edge.

My spearmen unit failed their leadership…AGAIN, and ran off the board. I move everything away from the dragon. My reavers and eagle charge the cannon, destroying it.

Turn 5:
The dragon charges my silverhelms, I flee out of range. His daemonettes charge my chariot, the knights come back on the table.

The chariot destroys the daemonettes, the silver helms rally, ending the game. I have my reavers, 1 eagle, 2 chariots, both units of knights, and swordmasters left. He has his dragon and knights.
