step by step of the desert base

Sand or desert bases are useful for some Khemri or Vampire Counts armies because they represent dead terrain.

What we will need:

- sand or some sandy material (I bought a package of sand for 1.65€ so they're not too expensive)

-pva glue: we need it when we are basing, don't we?

- a drybrush paintbrush. It must have short hair - look at the pic for further information.

-beige brown (vallejo model color) and brown sand (vallejo air color), bleached bone (i sugest you to buy vallejo one since its the same as GW but has more ml, is cheaper, and never dries)
Here are two very practical colours for gold and for ropes. I use them a lot.

You need them because a normal brush will die if you try to make something like this step by step.

First of all, put the sand material over the base with the pva +water mix.

Next, let's dry brush with beige brown over all the surface and the sides of the base.

Now mix the beige brown with the brown sand and make another dry brush.

Then dry brush with brown sand.

At this step, you can stop if you don't like to make a desert type of base; for Vampire Counts this kind of terrain rocks.

Dry brush with brown sand and bleached bone.

Finally, dry brush with bleached bone on some parts of the base.

For the article itself, I recommend using a few larger stones in between the sand next time
