Sounds like you've found another rabit hole to go down. I think it would look great. But it might also be slightly time consuming ...
ja probably. I guess it'll just depend on how often it rains while we're here.
You've probably already told us before, but where is "here" for you at the moment? You could always come visit the Netherlands, we get plenty of rain here usually. And fall is almost upon us, so there will be plenty of rainy days. Though you could probably visit SA in the UK as well if it's rain you need. I think they get their fair share of it as well

Road and Mountain cycling (I used to race road), and climbing mostly. Today I went and did some via ferrata for the first time. (Or as we say klettersteige).
Well, back at it again already. The blood bowl team is progressing. But I'm thinking I should have done Gold rather than silver armor. It just looks good with red.
I'm very curious what a sea elf stand in looks like
Gold and red work very nicely together indeed. Though it can be a bit overkill on warm colours if you're not careful. Silver offers a bit more contrast and lets the red pop out more because it's a lot cooler.
You could also consider bronze instead of gold. Works pretty good as well

6 minis done, except for the basing so no pictures yet. A dragon and rider as well, but that's a christmas gift so it doesn't add to my painted minis count. I'm doing a display stand for it as well, and that's not done yet.
I'm on a major elf run right now. I thought after the sea elves I'd do amazons or ostlanders for Mordheim. But I'm sticking with oldhammer elves/melenbonians.
I also primed 11 5 edition unarmored archers. I'm not sure what's going on there... I guess it's a good unit size, and I have all the sculpts so I won't be going back and adding more to the unit later. I'll probably scatter in some filler, make it a unit of 15 but figure some of that won't be used as characters are bound to join the unit. I like pretty ranks when possible, from a play to win standpoint my army is a disaster. I base my unit sizes around collecting and pretty ranks on the table. Lucky for me we mostly play Mordheim, which we roleplay pretty heavily anyway, and when we do play warhammer the people I play with are mostly just doing what they think it cool as well.
I think the 5th ed unarmoured archers are my favorite models in the HE range. They have so much character and "elfish-ness" in them. And you don't find them very often at all. So looking forward to see them appear here.

Of course, everyone knows that painted models and cool looking armies are favored by the dice gods and therefore perform better on the table. So you should be fine with what you put on the table

Pictures will be soon enough, I'll have the basing stuff out to finish off the dragon before christmas. Working on some ex Melenbonians with two swords tonight.
I was going to post some pictures. But apparently the advanced edition on imgur isn't working. I'll have to edit them on my computer and then upload them again, but I'm to lazy for that right now.
Ja. And apparently the problem is only on the desktop version. So far they've "fixed" the problem by taking the option away. I hope that's only a temporary solution.

Working in IT I can confirm that this is a very handy and much used fix for issues. The last step often is "Pray people forget about it and stop asking after it"
Depending on what you want to do there is a couple of desktop software options that will help you with edits of images (things like resizing images and the like) for not too much trouble.

A unit of seekers, a few more wardancers, and a battle standard are done except the basing. As soon as those are don't I'll have to do pictures even if imgur hasn't fixed things.
Just have to wait for the glue to dry, and then put some black around the edges. Taking photos tonight or tomorrow. I'm currenty working on a Unit of 15 Lothern City Guard (RR13). If anyone has the standard for them please let me know. I've got a good fill in made, but it would be nice to have all the originals.
I guess I'll use these as wardancers in non sea elf 3rd edition armies.
And now some elves for the merchant company. It think I've shown most of these already, but I've added some and there is a (nearly) full unit shot. There is also a leader, and a BSB for the sea elf army. Also more wardancers, and some seekers (unit shots of those too). I'm working on the Lothern City guard, and then I'll do a baggage train. That'll finish the Sea Elf army (but not my oldhammer high elf armies...).
Took longer than I wanted to finish them up, but here they are. I now have a 3rd Edition (with some eagles from 4th) Sea Elf army. I do still need to make a baggage train, and I'll add the odd model to units here and there. Army shots as soon as I finish the rest of the movement trays. And probably again after I do the baggage train.
For painting these I wanted to follow the descriptions for the 2nd edition Lothern City Guard Regiment of Renown. I also wanted them to work well as "Guard" for my 3rd edition armies, and the Sea Elves in particular. Other than using paving stones for the bases I think they match the rest of the army fairly well.
I like them. Are the shields freehand? I like the fairly natural looking colors. And the paving stones for the bases work well for them. They very much give them a "city guard" feel.
The cat is a nice addition as well. Did he come with the set?
Looking forward to the army pictures. More of those is always better.
