ImageThinking of this for the shields. A Jade dragon on a sun set background. There is red in the army so seems to work well beside the swordmasters. Will mean I have to use a different colour for the sashes, thinking white? Thoughts?

my nearly completed dragonmage. Wanted the flying attack pose that had been doen before and looks soooo good. As some deamons are goingto be added to basing etc I dexided thisnwould be the greater deamon aspect. The mage is magnatised for a lord swap at some point. Any comments welcome :D

I like the project. I think the use of scenic basing have greatly improved the Island of Blood models and given your army a more personal feel.

What ddi you use for the flowers?

I agree, that is some phenomenal basing!

I also really like the contrast between the blue robes and the red, sunset shields. Well done!

Cheers guys :D For some reason always enjoyed basing.

The Army Painter - Battlefields Meadow Flowers Tuft XP

There is a mix of tufts and colours but the flowers are the above. They work well and unlike normal tufts because of the way they come out you can make the tufts as big or small as you want.

On to some characters now for a change!

I absolutely love the sea guard! that is a vibrant, colorful unit. the BSB is really cool, too, great use for that model. can't wait to see more of your work, especially looking forward to the griffon getting painted!

That is a very good way to use a Annointed model, mine might be on his way to an appointment with some glue and a sharp knife. If you find the model to be unstable you could always weigh the base down with something. Can I ask how you extended the banner pole?

Thanks alot for the kind comments :D
The griffon I am going to do a little work on and try running him as a Eltharion in a couple of games. I currently have a dragonmage in and might try him out as an alternative.

@ Cold phoenix. Cheers. Seemed such a waste to not use him as I wanted a bsb and my phoenix was always going to be a flamespyre. I left quite a bit of the phoenix type stuff on as he sits with the Phoenix Guard a lot. Not sure what to actually put on the banner though...maybe a Jade Dragon?

There's some very nice stuff in here! I really like how vivid and colourful your models all look. It really helps them to stand out and catch the eye.

That display board looks more like a Greater Demon under attack by an entire army of High Elves! (As it should be :D )

Great looking army. Some impressive painting man. Going all the way back to the 1st pic on the thread (SM champ), what is ur technique and color scheme for your faces and especially eyes. Your eye jobs are amazing. Would you mind walking me through your process for eyes and faces? If it's a trade secret I'd understand but I'm always on the lookout to improve my painting skills and eyes are my biggest weakness. I'm sure there are threads about painting eyes but I'd rather ask someone who obviously has it down.
Thanks!

Thanks for the comments guys :D

@rexhavoc. I have always struggled a bit with faces and skin in general. For these elves I used pale flesh watered down over a basecoat of grey. I then washed in watered down marron brown. After this I highlighted up with the same pale skin. Glad you like the affect but its just that for all the skin on the models! The eyes are also shamefully basic...its just white and a dot of black  .Hope that helps

You have a steady hand my friend. The eyes on your SM Champ are sweet.

Rexhavoc - cheers. Can be alittle mind numbings but does make the overall look more appealing.

Back from a event here and managed to pick up a couple of prizes with the HE. Got best HE general and runner up best army. Really pleased with both. Best HE nice as the dragonmage did better than the other armies with frosthearts
Winning army was a lot better than mine so need to keep pluging away with these guys to raise the standard. Up next I think some bolt throwers and a special character conversion.

My WiP Alith Anar. Wanted him to have a more assassin type look and feel. Someone who could spring like Shadowblade more than just a scout
