Quite a too-good-to-be-true rumor that needs confirmation.

#1 Post by ilovecookies1 »

So a good friend of mine told me that Games Workshop IS releasing a new non human race, but they have not announced what it is yet. Anyone also hear of this?

You mean the Crab/Fish/Cthulhu man?

It's a rumour. If true, don't look for it before the next edition.

I don't think so. At all.

Too many things already released need improving as it is.

You see, my friend told me that it had been ANNOUNCED by Games workshop that a new race of non human nature will be released, but they did not specify whether it was fantasy or 40k. I've been looking at several different forums and so far it looks like other people know of this announcement as well, and everyone seems to be discussing it. Let us remember though, that Games Workshop is a large corporation probably more focused on getting more sales and money rather than appeasing the needs of the players. If you do the math, a new army book that attracts a decent amount of players will ring in 250-500 dollars or so from anyone bent on collecting.

and from i have heard thats rubbish
i know there is potential for 4 new races, and only one of them is non human, and its so obvious what it is you can hardly say they are new.

Warhammer definitely needs even more races added to the portfolio of playable armies. In combination with a continued neglect of established races whose playerbase have been yearning for updates for years this would guarantee a general cheering up of the community. Image

What is the obvious non human race then?

Well if it was 40k it could always be the one army whose name must not be spoken within GW stores.

For fantasy? I dont believe it has been specified as to whar the "Great Bastion" is actually keeping out that dwells in the Eastern Steppes, unless its just more damn daemons. It could also be nids arriving, and if you lose to them your opponent gets to smash all your models, its a slow way to transform fantasy into 40k!

First I've heard of it.

And either way, it's still the most obvious non-human race to be done. They're so old now, they're practically new.

Few componies actually leak anything, if your GW store manager knows about it then chances are its ok for you to know it too. The people that know the real stuff are the Painters, Black Library, anyone that works at HQ. People from there wont let a whisper through, unless they know its ok to tell friends about it.

I know someone from the Eavy Metal team and he says that when skaven get redone, in the current rules, its going to be a new level of high play. Either thats true and its ok for me and you guys to know that or its just experimental rules, when you hear about something is the most pivotal point in any information. The reason he knows is because the eavy metal team, as some of you may know, paint models about a year before they hit the stores.

hopefully GW wont make skaven designed to beat daemons. cause then were just in a cycle of trying to out-do the latest army made. and it completely sucks since weve already got our book :P

Paid back the ones you owe them yet? It was a while ago now, after all.

I personally think that Chaos Dwarfs would get enough support for a succesful launch. I think that it will remain one of the lesser used armies after it its release. I think that the chaos dwarfs will be getting their own book though because of allthe refrences in the newer army books. It beats ogre kingdoms in my opinion. In the US I don't think they are tournament legal anymore so there are very few CD players left.

As for Squats I read some where that by the next addition a similar army to squats may be released.
