Hello! I am proud to announce that the 100th game has been played. It turned out to be roughly 14k game. Sadly our empire, vampire counts, beastmen and warriors of chaos players couldn't attend the match =(. Should they have joined it would easily be 18 - 20 k game :D However we still had a quite magnificent game. I just finished doing the battle chronicler deployment.

That looks epic! It's how you imagine a battle to look like. Ranks on ranks of warriors standing on opposite sides of the field ready to head at each other! Looks great. And 14k is a pretty amazing size for a game, even if it could have been bigger. How long did it take to finish? Can't wait to read the report.

Yep, Battle Royale!

:)

At first I thought the one side was entirely High Elves!

Thanks for the replies

@RE.Lee at first my friend using a nickname Hellcannon played with the TK, but he suddenly had to take leave so from turn 2 I was playing alone against 4 other players.

@Prince of Spires We started in saturday midday round 12 a clock and finished about 6 am. This included list building, lunch break and couple smaller breaks. All of us had the right mentality to play that we really didn't think too much on every single movement and deployment etc. For the most part this was simply to be some magnificent fun seeing armies clash together.

@Spellarcher: That would have being epic. At this game I have 2459 points of core. I got almost all of my core somewhat painted for this match. I think I still got 6 silverhelms, couple seaguards, couple archers and about.... 20 spearmen unpainted. And some monopose spearmen also. So something like 10 - 12k is maximum size I could field.

Due the wider table the Battle Chronicler pictures are slightly too small, but if you click the picture it opens it bigger

that looks like one epic game. Congrats on the win :)

Not really any specific points to comment on. But it read like a fun game full of sportsmanship and epic moments. And the elves made a great show of it. :)

Thank you for sharing. Small detail, the second link doesn't work for me.

That was a pretty brutal game. Because of the small size only a few very crucial moments in there. For someone who never played WH before, the deamonic moves T2 to set up the combined charge on the lions were brilliant.

Game looked fun, and a good way to learn the game.

@prince of spires thanks for the reply. Hopefully I get more painted models for the next games. that 1600 (about 800 point old 8th) games is too small for my taste :D

We had fun and most likely Akilae will play another time (if nothing else just to beat me :D )

It is indeed too small for a "real" game. I agree. But it's a fun starting point. And since it's so low level, the stakes are lower too and you get to learn faster. So not bad when starting out. And now it's indeed time to start increasing the points total ;)

Btw for small games the team from The 9th Age has published recently a Quick Starter edition with simplified rules and army lists are tailored for the smaller point total.

More info: http://www.the-ninth-age.com/news/index ... -released/

It looks pretty cool in my opinion!

thanks for the suggestion @elendor_f

I think it is a good idea to implement that kind of entry set. It will certainly be very usefull for people that have none of very little experience of playing, or for introduction for new players.

What's the difference between the quick rules and the regular rules? I had a quick scroll through it and it mainly seems like they've removed a lot of the unnecessary extra rules they added on to compensate for other rules they added on.

I skimmed the quick rules and for me the most simplification has been made in army building section. (fixed spells, with the actual rule written on the spell) and special rules simplification and not that many options.

I didn't notice much changes in the core rules (there probably is)

That was a very bloody battle. Interesting read. I actually though you would have lost that one, by looking at the amount of models left on the table. Though I guess The amount of points in the DP far outweighed the Skaven stuff that was left on the table.
Jezails managed to do SINGLE wound on crushers whole game, with volatile they got 6 wounds on them selves and survived 3 panic tests on LD5. Really odd.
=D> In a way, that's how it should be with skaven. Weird rolling all game.

Looking at the pictures, it that doomwheel (or whatever it's called now) homemade? It looks very interesting and very skaven...

Yes and I got the secondary objective also with the crushers. My opponent had only plague catapult and dispersed jezails on board.

I talked with my opponent helkku about the jezails and we concluded since those jezails were unpainted, dicegods didn't want them to succeed :D

yeah dreadmill (doomwheel) is homemade still work in progress. wooden wheels with spikes and there is supposed to be lots of running rats inside of it, but currently there aint none.

@prince of spires the doomwheel / dreadmill is actually done by my friend mantsa and he originally planned to make them as snotling pump wagons. the core of the build is done from balsatree, sprue pits and the core circular thing is the empty shell of painters tape (I am not sure if thats is what it is called in english)

Here are some wip pictures from it

you seem to keep fighting very bloody battles... ;) Not a lot that can be said about that one. Your opponent played well I think, considering it was only his third battle. And small games tend to run less predictable perhaps.

Thanks for sharing the wip pictures from the dreadmill. It looks very cool :) And very much like it was stuck together by snotlings (in a good way ;) ). And it's a great idea to use the inside of a roll of painters tape (I have no idea what it's called, but I understand what you mean). I might use that trick some day :)

This is probably true. After all, everyone knows the dice gods favour painted models
