Will definitely do that Francis. Now back to painting *grumble*. Oh and Stormie if you wouldn't mind taking over the report writing for the WD crew, that'd be great.

EDIT: Again, really great to see so much variation in painting styles and colours! Really enjoyable.

Great as always. Just how many assassins are there? I almost feel like they should have been deployed as their own unit.

Absolutely beautiful! All those painted models bring the battlefield to life in a completely different way, than even partially unpainted armies. What an effort! :)

I had another look at the intro- is Tyrion's cloak from the plastic Phoenix rider's? I recall it does swirl around quite madly (to get around the throne-saddle).

Also I'm suprised by the current score- it feels like the High Elves are getting their butts kicked! Should've given Alarielle a bodyguard of like 50 Handmaiden heroes, also ;)

No, it's not the Phoenix rider's. That one is more ornate; this one is plain.

And yeah, maybe I should have turned my maiden guard into a regiment of handmaidens instead of sea guard. As impressive as the points tally would have been...

I absolutely agree! I'm checking my RSS feed every couple hours just for that! :P
I was looking forward to that Dragon Princes charge into Malekith, but that fight turned short. Anyway, I thought Hel Fenn was great without playing Empire or VC - so seeing HE in Finuval Plain makes it that bit grander still!
Keep up the good work, Hoodling!

Actually, there will be a youtube clip embedded in the next turn's post. Maybe not what you had in mind, but hey...

Hopefully turn 5 will be up in the next 6 hours or so. Sorry it's taking a while.

Epic turn 5! So much stuff happening, it's amazing to watch. And the youtube part definitely needed to be there! Seems Lachie needs clues about when to roll 1's and when to roll 6's, right?

If only there were more than 6 turns of that goodness... :D

This is fantastic! Awesome! Please keep up the good work, and let us see the final round.

Was reading Hell Fen, which was good and exciting, but this is awesome and and i find myself cheering the High Elves for evey won combat. Outloud. In the middle of class.

 Haha

Insert some clause here about how I am not responsible for people reading this in class when they should be doing something more class-related...

I just don't know which event I'm more shocked at. The dragon failing against Dwellers Below, or the player controlling the Everqueen going "I know what's a great idea I'll cast a spell against a powerful wizard with high hopes of overcoming his dispel attempt, and then him rolling a 6."

Awesome! I especially like how the demise of Sulekh was described. I love it when people reimagine the effects of a spell, I've long imagined Dwellers as powerful roots springing from the ground, but in this case the spectral dragons was awesome. It even made me feel sorry for the dragon Sulekh once was even if he was a rotten and nasty one. I love dragons and other winged creatures so much. I'm surprised the High Elves are doing as well as they are, I thought they'd be up against it. It is a proper even match, to continue the NFL analogy a bit like the 49ers/Seahawks game on Sunday.

I was worried I had gone a little overboard with that bit, actually. Glad you liked it.

I don't think it was too over the top. Most people don't do narrative battle reports, and I always appreciate when someone can improve on the description the book provides. With all the emphasis on tournaments it often gets lost that Warhammer is designed to be a DIY experience, whether with painting, dioramas, narrative and rules within a mutually agreeing group.

I think it added a lot too, but the way the text was written, it gave me the impression that the Everqueen cast the spell once, and it was dispelled/they passed their tests, and then she used her special ability to re-cast the spell again, and this it worked? Or am I reading too much into the text?

No, that was just me getting carried away and making excuses for the disgraceful rolling on the part of the Dragon...
