With the Los rules for the masters and maps already availible I'm actually considering a stardragon list for the masters....

There are a lot of Swedish/Masters lists being discussed on Asrai. I've pointed out the Star Dragon scenario and guys have recognised that often their lists can't cope with it. The general response has been either to amend the list, or to trust in the comp hit putting HE players off it.

Like a frostheart Phoenix rising from the ashes of a useless flamespyre I'm back!

No dribble crappy half arsed rumours about 9th will get me down

So since the masters I have been really busy with RL, work and running my own tournament

I've not played in a event since the masters or even used my high elves (took them out the case for the 1st time since masters to check for repairs etc)

I have had around 10 Swedish games with a mono slaanesh doc list which was fun, but since it's a bit redundant to play ATM in cranking out the elves again

So right now I am gearing up for wetcoastgt2015

Now I won this in 2013 with HE and came 3rd in 2014 with ogres so really need to keep in the top 3 again

Recently everyone's been testing Swedish but this is no comp (no end times bar Undeath and 50%)

So ATM I am thinking of running

Lord on stardragon with dragon armour, ogre blade, talisman of preservation and ots

Lvl4 on horse on high with book, crown of command and golden crown
Botwd bsb on horse
Hero on horse

2x10 reavers
10 silver helms
2 eagles
2 frosthearts

So very fast army that can stick together and hit hard

Nothing's static

Nothing stompable

Thoughts?

What's the standard formation for the helms Wamph?

Do the characters go there by default or do they join the Reavers sometimes?

It really depends on what I am facing and what magic they have.

if Dwellers etc then obviously have to split the characters, but hardly anyone is using life around here atm (they prefer Death/Metal/Heavens atm but mainly as we have been playing Swedish for the last tournament)

I was thinking of running them 4 wide most of the time, 3 wide if needed

Since they are stubborn anyway they are more to provide stubborn for the dragon and have the two characters/champ to help do damage in combat.

Just found out they are doing hills/building block LOS which makes this fast list a bit better

High Magic should get the characters at least a +2 ward most turns as I can pretty much cast all 4 spells ever magic phase with +5 to cast and BOH (being cheeky if needs be on low dice phases)

I just like the idea of the whole thing being together within a bubble, eagles rediverting/rail roading where needed to maximise charges. Most armies will be not be prepared to face a force like this, more expecting to face static combat blocks and a battle line, while mine can be more like a spear tip

and since its WLD I can just charge in, kill everything I think I can then move the hell out of dodge as nothing is slower than 18"

What a failure!

The list didn't work well at all in my 1st test game.

He had:

Daemon prince lvl3 metal (wings, soulfeeder, dragonbane gem, ots, charmed shield, etc etc)
level 4 Tzeentch daemonic mount (3+ ward)
exhaulted Tzeentch daemonic mount (4+ ward rerolling 1)
two regen chimeras
two slaanesh chariots
two units hounds
Shaggoth AHW
Block of warriors (20 I think) mark of tzeentch, movement banner, HW&S (characters in here)

He rolled around 10 for magic every phase.

Lost a phoenix turn 1 to a S10 Pink Bolt which did 3 wounds and then gatewayed

10 reavers charged a flank of a chariot, failed to get 1 wound. Lost 4 back and then broke and then got run down

My bsb died in 2 round to the DP (kept rolling 1's)

My dragon and Phoeinix did a heroic charge on his main unit he didn't see coming....Frosty needed a 9 and dragon a 4....Frosty makes in and dragon fails.

So yeah...pretty poor

So relooking I need more magic that will do something. I think High is great support but just not enough against some armies (who just want to stop unforging anyway)

So new list is similar but with some changes. Dragon dropped for Annointed to save some points, which combined with dropping an eagle gives me a lvl 2 (went for Beasts atm but open to suggestions)

I changed my level 4 to Shadow, as can really help (Mindrazor FTW)

Dropped the 2nd noble for a skycutter, as my force is all mobile and gives me something annoying for clearing out chaff

SO list looks like:

Annointed on Frostheart
Blade of leaping gold, dawnstone, enchanted shield

Mounted level 4 with book and Crown of command (Shadow)

Mounted BSB BOTWD

Mounted lvl 2 Beasts (Scroll/Khaines ring)

10 Silverhelms full command shields

10 Reavers full command (Reavers for Land Capture Scenarios each round)

10 Reavers Banner/Musician

Skycutter

Eagle

Frostheart

After talking with a friend might make the lvl4 beasts and lvl2 high

Then switch up reavers to 3x6 with banner/musician and add a silverhelm

Then drop skycutter for another mounted noble

Means the Knights are a bit of a bus, but can always drop a Mage into each reaver unit if vs dwellers

Savage beasts on anointed with leaping gold could be tasty

Might drop a Phoenix for 3 Bolt throwers but think it loses the fear of the Tri-Phoenixes
