New forum for Vampire Counts players...

#61 Post by whirlwind »

Hello, some friends of mine have set up a new forum dedicated to Vampire Counts players. This also supports and includes Necromancer-lead armies. This will be a small (but will grow) forum where the admins and mods respond and support the community as much as they possibly can. Give them a try, this could be a home for you :)

Join the FurRevolution!
The author wrote:Hey everyone,

I would like to announce that I have created a new forum, the sole intention of which is to allow furs and non-furs to get together and try and dispell some of those horrible misconceptions about the Fandom. I know we've all run into them at one point or another. The forum is called the FurRevolution, and that's exactly what I am doing; revolting against prejudice and misconception.
So are you a furry who wants to talk about the fandom and talk away the preconceptions, or are you someone who would like to talk about what you think of furry's or if you don't know what a furry is and you'd like to know, then come on board.

You'll find me there as Itchigo Icetalons, hope to meet you soon!

EDIT: We encourage non-furs to come around, since ehr.. well.. there is'nt a single one at the site yet... :?

In the dark humorless future there is only "Drawn of War". A budding GW webcomic forum, still very new and looking for creative people or those that just like funny pictures.

Drawn of War

Hope to see you there.

I am so going to have to get into that one. :D

GamerzLegend needs Staff!

#71 Post by Angron »

Hey everyone,

I'm Angron, normally known because of my work with Warvault. Well, now I'm here to speak about something completely different...

Gamerzlegend, the new site from Society of Gamers Media Network, is picking up a lot of speed. And what's more, I'm taking the lower management job of the site as the Network Manager for miniatures.

So, what does that mean? It means I've got a bunch of jobs going spare for hard working, talented and willing people. Read on for more...

Why Would I Want to Work for Free?

Many people seem put off by the concept of working for free online. It seems like a slightly alien concept to them - why should you do hard work without pay?

Well, mainly because it pays off. I started working for free online seriously in September 2005, and now here I am, a paid contractor for GamerzLegend. If you want it to, the work can definitely pay off in the future; it did for me.

What Jobs Are Going?

At the moment, I'm very much interested in people who are willing to collect together the most recent rumours from across the miniatures market in order to collate them in one place under a set column, which they will themselves be writing, with full credit.

I am also looking for people willing to work as staff news writers, as well as more long term and more detailed article writers, especially for some of the less involved aspects of the miniatures market (Flames of War, and some other smaller branches such as Reaper et al). These positions come with fantastic benefits - the small staff I have put together already are reaping the rewards of membership in the interviews they will be performing and the products they will be receiving direct from the publishers in order to review them.

How Do I Apply?

Easy. Contact me at Ross.Birkett(at)gmail.com or Angron(at)mdy.me.uk, with your name, contact details and links to any other work you have done in the past.

If you have any questions at all, email me! I can't promise that I'll be able to come back and check each thread on each site that has been kind enough to allow me to speak to you, so if you're interested, drop me a line!

Like I said, I'm looking for dedicated staff with a talent and passion for the content you're writing! I will speak to each applicant personally, and will notify everyone when I have made my decision.

Hope to hear from some of you soon! Seriously, don't let this opportunity pass you by if you're interested in working as an article writer anywhere, or working online. Practice really does open doors!

Hi guy's,

here is my website that i am building :

www.freewebs.com/theoclias

Greetings Theoclias
I will never completely penetrate the delicate veil that seperates the High Elves world from my own, despite my great yearning at times to do so. The friendliness and good humor of the High Elves have warmed me, their sweetness and dignity moved me. Yet entrance into their inner world, their inner lives, remains gently shrouded behind a natural shyness and modest reserve. Still my heart is at home in Ulthuan.

Hey guys, an arena type site, with AoD tournaments and stuff. At the moment it is just getting started, but the more members come, the quicker it can get off the ground.

As the Hour of the Wolf serves as a nice promotion for the Skaven here at Asur.org, I might add my token to the bag by posting about the Moulder Pitfighters league (clickety click here). This site is based on the concept of the clan Moulder pitfighting game that has been posted on the Games Workshop site in the past.

It's an on-going AoD-ish RPG, where you become a clan Moulder master moulder that is building creatures. These are entered in tournaments where your creature fight those from other master moulders and along the way, you gain more cash and experience to increase your influence in the master mouldering world... So for those who are interested in the clan Moulder side of the Skaven, this might most definitely be a nice site to visit.

"Hello, I represent the C'tan Support Group- http://www.pwl-tech.co.uk/csg- which is a Necron-orientated site which also caters for other races as well as the hobby itself. At the moment we are looking to build up our list of links to other sites and forums which are active also, as a result, I am wondering if you want to take part in a links exchange whereby we'll add your banner and URL to our list in exchange for you adding ours.

Hopefully, we'll be able to get some cross-over traffic and build upon our communities!

Thanks,

This website has been called the best all round gamesworkshop forum! The only downside about it is that it only has 15 members! But the look of it and the potential it has, is unbelievable!

Game 2 of Castles now starting!!!!!!!!

If you've never heard of Castles before, it's a nice little strategy game built on a web forum turn based system.

The basic idea is each player controls a kingdom and or a hero in a kingdom. Each week you post one set of orders for movement of your kingdoms troops on the map. Troops are tracked per territory. The game ends if one kingdom controls all the other castles, or controls 3/4's of the map. The game also ends on turn 16 if neither of the previous events occur before then, and a leaderboard then rates the players at that time.

You can customize your kingdoms troops and make up any race you'd like that you feel fits with the medieval fantasy pre gunpowder theme.

Heroes also level and are very customizable.

If your interested take a look as registration for game 2 has just begun! And preference for controlling 1 of 12 kingdom spots available is somewhat given on an order of registration basis.

The link: http://z6.invisionfree.com/Castles/index.php

Hope to see you there!

Wargame bits service - buy, sell & trade Warhammer

#84 Post by adders »

Hello people

I've checked with Eldacar and he's cool with this post.

I've just launched a wargames bits site (bits, models, terrain anything really), where you can buy, sell and trade wargames bits, including warhammer 40k and fantasy battle.

As we're new it's always hard to get people to be the first to take the plunge so please sign-up and add your unwanted bits.

Basic listing is FREE, so apart from spending a few minutes listing your items what have you got to lose.

Any Questions just let me know.

Here's the link to the site: Wargame Bits

Cheers

O.k. My friend has just started a new website.

http://z3.invisionfree.com/Gamer_Zone20 ... hp?act=idx

It's about gamers basically. Since there are plenty of members on this website, I was wondering if anybody from here would join it. Bear in mind that it is pretty empty at the minute because it has only been up for bout a week.

Hopefully, it will eventually be as popular as A.org.

Thanks in advance.

P.S.- Sorry Eldacar, I should have checked

I present: Better alternatives to everyday websites.

Mahalo > Google?

Mahalo is a human-powered search engine. This is explained a little in the following link.

Why Mahalo is the best search engine

Oh, and if they don't have a page prepared for your search, you get the Google results anyways.

and...

Citizendium > Wikipedia?

Citizendium is a site from one of the two original creators of Wikipedia, who got fed up with Wiki.

Why Citizendium is better than Wikipedia

Why might these be better you ask? The short version: Because they are not run by AI, algorithims, and high school students. These sites are run by professionals. Granted, they are not yet as huge as their counterparts in size (partly due to the way they operate, but also because they are relatively new), but I'll certainly use these two before Wiki or Google.

I learned about these sites from a man named Andrew Keen, the author of a book titled The Cult of the Amateur. He held a lecture at my brother's school, and we went to see him earlier tonight. I'll be making another OT topic about him tomorrow probably when I have more time to discuss his book and ideas further.

A pirate forum. Mostly related to WHFB but caters general pirate discussion from real world to, say, WH40k. The forum is in a need of users (there are only 60 of us and of them about 20 active members) so I thought to advertize it here.
