Spartan wrote:So it's SNAFU with me and that girl. Has been since Sunday really, I've just been feigning composure this week. I know for a fact that she legitimately likes me, but she turned me away again because she doesn't think she's ready. I'm calling her tomorrow to give her a speech about it, and her friends think it'll work, but I've got a sinking feeling that it won't. I'm tellin' you man, she's the one. If she gets away then I give up on relationships.

This plus just having seen The Hurt Locker really makes me want to enlist. IEDs, here I come.

/self-absorbed rant
First person i've seen who wants to enlist because of the Hurt Locker :D.

Allow me to give you my two cents though:

Don't worry.

I'm sure you've heard this before, but the less worried you are about relationships, the more likely you are to find a person who is mentally stable, and if you've done it right, someone who is attracted to you.

Just relax mate, don't think about it too much.

On a personal note, going to the movies tonight with that girl I met at a club a month ago. Wish me luck :D.

PS: Will my night end with wine? Taking all bets right here!

I'm off tonight to help my flatmate celebrate his birthday, casino then strip club. First time I've been to a strip club so should be interesting.

Interesting? More like dull and pathetic.

I might go to that once, but you don't want to identify yourself as a consumer of strip clubs.

Meh, it's not my first choice of places to go. Then again it's also not my birthday thing, so I don't get to choose where.

From what I have heard from other people the girls tend to be in the late 20's to early 30's range which for us (teen/early twenties) they will probably be withered old hags.

You're about to watch the definition of a cumdumpster, pretty much.

There is no such thing as the one. No matter what everybody dies alone. If it works out then great. If it doesn't, nothing is really that different. There's no point in getting depressed over not going out with some girl. Its completely meaningless. On this list of things to lose your shit over and throw everything away, a blown college relationship doesn't even rank.

Yea, I know. I haven't shown that side of myself to her, but I've instead played it off pretty calmly. That's why I'm surprised she pulled the plug on a date again. To be honest, I was still pretty cool and confident about the whole thing this week until I heard that she got an internship-- which probably means she won't be here for the summer anymore. If that's the case, whatever I say to her won't amount to dick anyway.

It's still a hellhole over in the sandbox. If I can take the flak rather than some soldier with kids and a family, then sign me up. Of course I'm overreacting, but if it were that simple I'd do it tomorrow.

1+ to Andy for finding a pic of a proper viking woman! =D> And she got cookies!

Have a look at this link, fellas! Your old Rammie will have his fiftheen seconds of fame next spring, or so... Unless I get completley cut away from the episode. But at least me and my big family got our minutes of fame in the local paper. Enjoy!

I especially like this pic...

Sound like you need to move on already. And man, chill out and listen to this before you do anything stupid.

 When I first glanced at that song I thought it said Ali G.

But seriously, I'm not gonna do anything stupid. Just talking it out while I get my shit back together. I can roll with punches, I just tend to have a little internal meltdown while I'm doing so.

I think I'll start getting back in shape for the military, though. I'm sure I won't end up enlisting; throwing myself at danger is selfish. What the Army really needs is an officer to start turning it into a professional fighting force like the rest of the US Armed Forces, instead of the sloppy force it is now. Maybe I could do that.

Its the episode called "Hooked". I think its season 5, episode 16, but I could be wrong on that account.

Ok yea, I've seen that one. Great episode. This isn't so much of an "on the hook" instance...that was more like my situation for the past 3 years. This girl's different...she told me straight up what the deal was, and it's really just the circumstances that are to blame.

Let's see if some bro time at the bars can't heal this.

Over and out.

I'll just leave this here.

Ode to Albion

This chat is my chat
This chat is your chat
From the Swedish blabber to the British chitchat
From the Druchii Warships to the High Elf Newbies
This chat was made for you and me

As I went punching that silly dancey
I found he came back and was really bouncy
I shrugged and wondered, that op level I fancy
This chat was made for you and me

We poke and prod some poor helpless newbies
We go and shine on in brilliant hubris
We diss religion, and yes it’s true that we kick ass!
This chat was made for you and me

When Voods came kicking, and I was trolling
And Lethalis sighing and Loki rolling
A topic proclaiming, as the ban was lifted,
This chat was made for you and me.

This chat is my chat
This chat is your chat
From the Swedish blabber to the British chitchat
From the Druchii Warships to the High Elf Newbies
Albion was made for you and me

Wonders where one could get that hat...

Anyway, this thread has sort of lost something in the translastion. What were we talking about again?
As far as I know, there are only two things that deserve the fear of humanity. Uncertainty, and certainty. The fear of what is certain, one can come to terms with, while the uncertain, one cannot. I seek knowledge because I am a coward.
