This is one series I've been postponing, unfortunately, it's creeping up the to watch list.

Mine's from The Loathsome Ratmen and All Their Vile Kin, a Skaven fluff book. It's written by someone in the Empire who becomes aware of the Skaven and is desperate to overturn the conspiracy. The book has some fantastic artwork, and this is one of my favourite pictures from it; a Grey Seer being carried aloft on a palaquin. It's a beautiful picture and really sums up the viciousness and menace of the Grey Seers and the Skaven race perfectly. So who could resist not having it as an avatar?

Hey, it's not that bad. And at least I don't relate to Gendou. That would just be... Bad.

No probs. It didn't take all that long, there's actually only just over 2200 avatars in the collection.

I asked Ric nicely if he could upload them (they're only 10MB) to his domain, as I don't want to try uploading 2200 files to photobucket.

So I present this mess of avatars. Now, if I've got my information correct, this is a mix of the stuff I downloaded from Asur.org.uk after we stopped using it, some older Ulthuan/Asur stuff, and some older avatars that might be from another site.

Have fun: http://www.ulthuan.net/avatars/

Oh man, so many memories in all those old avvies...almost brings a tear to my eye  .

Though I have to say, seeing Inya's avvy again was a bit...scary  .

Wow, I'm almost at the bottom of that thing. :P Couldn't find my older ones though, which is a shame. Can't remember what I used to use.

at first my avatar was a generic high elf with sword picture, then Pecten and Uther began demanding I make it a picture of a ferret, which I did. A few months later (2 years and a few months ago) my dog died and my avatar has been a picture of her ever since.

I'll offer a title to anyone who can identify more than 25% correctly

The accuracy will have to be determined by someone who has a better idea if the answers than me.

Congratulations Burning Sun, nice thread!

I even stand a chance, my memory is (amongst other things) very visual. Elias and I as a team would stand even more chance. But ehm...the link gives an error. So, what to do about that? Should we do something or you?

I'll give you the history of my avatars soon enough, it's some effort so scramble them all together again :D

I think I found this one when I googled rabbit stencil. It's one of about ten that I cycle through. My favourite one is still:

Image

I think I found it on Wooster Collective. I like how the robot interacts with the environment. This is probably the oldest one I have:

Image

Which is the talking head from Myth the Fallen Lords. I used to have a gif version where it talked, but I lost it many, many years ago.

Same for me.

I don't think I could name 25% of them, though I might get 10%. I am going to try when the page is back up

OK, that's one way to crash the software.

Lets try this again, using subfolders and a faster server, ours.

(I've edited the above link too)

EDIT - Finished uploading now, try the new link

IIRC, the first avatar I had on this forum was the coat of arms of my home town, Rijeka.

Image

But that one didn't last long. It was soon substituted by the one I currently have, which I made from the following pic:

Image

This one comes from a manga called Berserk, which I first started to read some 8-9 years ago and still like a lot.

Yeah, slashdotting ourselves sounds like a better idea than slashdotting someone else. :)

Quoted because it made me smile :D

Ric is lovely, and will do favours like this, but I'd rather we not crash his gallery for him. He was kind enough to throw me the software though, which is what I've uploaded here.

Woow, that link really contains too-many-avatars-loading-too-slow. I'm not going to try to identify them. I'm still enjoying the thread though.

The history of my avatars then.

It started all with this picture in 2004. It's from a photoshoot a friend of us did.
Image
I believe it was Joran who was nice enough to ask whether I was a guy or a girl  (thought it to be quite obvious, but ok, Joran is Joran). In those times people were speculating about me being Elias' alterego instead of his girlfriend.

Then I had this one for a long time including the War of the Beard campaign.
Image
Which belongs to this photo, which was made for a store selling gothic clothing.
Image
This one only evoked positive reactions and no questioning my gender.

Then I had...I believe this one:
Image
Which belongs to this drawing I made years ago. The rest of the picture I wasn't satisfied about :? , but I'll post it for the completeness:
Image
Gehehehe don't ask.

Then I had this one, one of my drawings, which obviously is a Fellonian high on caterpillars. At least, obvious for the ones who joined Elias' roleplay game Age of the Beast (he is really working on the final fluff, you know)
Image
The full picture again:
Image

For the Hour of the Wolf campaign I played Nehekara and downloaded a hippo skull:
Image

Ow, then I skipped to one I can't find now, something me sitting on a stone, looking away. I also had the one with the umbrella again.
After the campaign I returned to my Fellonian avatar.

Last but not least I now a female who belongs to the Hordes of Anar and is a adorer of the Slaanesh. So, a new avatar.
Image
I'm sitting on the floor, watching and enjoying a performance by the medieval band Estampie at the Wave Gotik Treffen 2002. It's a rare picture of me with a genuine smile, since I didn't know the picture was being taken (As soon as I see a lense I smile not-really or like an idiot). The angle and outfit make it Slaanesh-fit :D
Image

So, well. That was my contribution.
Waiting for Elias to say something stupid again like dancing hobbits nightmares or narcists jerking off in front of mirrors.
