Here is my current ETC 2400 list that I'm looking to be reasonably competitive:

Archmage - Dispell Scroll, Ruby Ring of Ruin, Talisman of Preservation

Noble - BSB, Armour of Caledor

Archers x21 - Musician
Ellyrian Reavers x5 - Bow
Ellyrian Reavers x5 - Bow
Silver Helms x6 - Shields
Silver Helms x6 - Shields

Phoenix Guard x23 - FC, Razor Standard
White Lions of Chrace x28 - FC, Banner of Eternal Flame

Eagle Claw Bolt Thrower
Eagle Claw Bolt Thrower
Eagle Claw Bolt Thrower
Frostheart Phoenix

Comes to 2400 points exactly, thoughts?

Thanks in advance

Any particular reason for not taking banner of the world dragon on the white lions? They are super fragile without in my opinion.

Just one question about original list: Why ruby ring and not ring of khaine?

In any case, agree that world dragon banner helps this list, as it gives your opponent no good targets for magic templates and magic missiles. Flaming banner on lions is good for monster removal, but fewer regen monsters in the newest books and the presence of multiple units that can handle monsters (cavalry, bolt throwers, 2 large blocks of elite infantry, frost phoenix) should help with this.

I took Ruby Ring because I would normally be taking High magic anyway and most of the time taking Soul Quench.

They don't interfere with each other. Your mage can take Soul Quench and you can still have the Ring of Khaine in the army. Heck, the mage is allowed to take the ring and use it to cast Soul Quench a second time each round after casting it herself. It's way better than ruby ring for the same points cost. Both give a 3+ bound spell, but the Khaine ring gives 2d6 missiles instead of only 1d6, and the Khaine ring provides a ward save buff from Shield of Saphery. The only advantage of the ruby ring is flaming attacks, which isn't really significant.

The only problem I have with SQ is the short range. 6" is big difference.

I found that to be a problem as well, esp if the bearer is on foot.
