Recently I've tried running both the loremaster and the high archmage. So far I like it a lot, as it really makes for a very very potent magic phase. What high magic really lacks is good spells in turn 4-6, because it has no buffs, which the loremaster now has.
So I was just curious to hear peoples experiences and thoughts on bringing both these guys now that we can have 50% in lords. To heavy an investment or?

Re: Loremaster + archmage combo
I've been having moderately decent success with 2 level 4's (sorc for dark, AM for high) and a loremaster. But the flip side is magic is the point of that army. The Loremaster is my combat character also, shield of merwin, and book of hoeth with a magic sword (needed to get rid of great weapon) who buffs himself up for combat as needed.
P.S. Just watch out for a slann, one of them murdered me the other day. Although my loremaster did kill a saurus cowboys.
