Teclis and 'Ard Boyz
I assume a good deal of us will be taking Teclis to 'Ard Boyz. Now my question is will you also take a Lv2 or a Lv1 with him?

Re: Teclis and 'Ard Boyz
I might take another mage just for the sake of taking the annulian crystal. Between that and the D3 extra dispel dice that Teclis generates you can really shut down an opposing magic phase. Characters would be Teclis, BSB, and a level 2 with the crystal.

The above sounds about right...
Throw in the Banner of Sorcery, and you have the full works:
+D3 +D3 Power Dice in your own Magic Phases
+D3 +1 Dispel Dice in your opponents Magic Phases

Agh, now the question is lore's lol. Or can Teclis change lore's per game in a tournament?

Usually it is ruled that he cannot. As for which lore, the "best" ones tend to be death, shadow, and life. Which one you take really depends on how you plan on having Teclis's bunker set up. If you plan on taking the Banner of the World Dragon to make it immune to magic, then you shouldn't take life as it contains nearly exclusively buff spells.

You might want to look into the Lore of Ligth.
Having I10 troops can really be usefull with your ASF rule. Don't have the BRB or Battle Magic Cards at the moment but I tried the lore with a Lvl 4 without the BoH and it was a game changer.

Re: Teclis and 'Ard Boyz
death is a good all rounder.
being able to snipe his general/bsb/mages is incredibly useful + can often win the game for you.
against any non elven/skaven army, purple sun will decimate your opponent and refill your PD banks too, meaning your lvl2 can carry on casting away even after teclis has cast every spell in the lore

an interesting variation on my usual playstyle, which is 'charge forward, forward for the love of khaine, we can fight better than any of them and they can't shoot into melee why is our armor so thin ohgodcannons'
Re: Teclis and 'Ard Boyz
i have used teclis with death and i have changed to shadows.
death is certanly awesome killer, but you must close in and with teclis you should stay far away from combat.

which your proposed Lore of Shadow will help you do also in dire situations via Smoke And Mirrors Lore Attributepedrogzc wrote: and with teclis you should stay far away from combat.
Re: Teclis and 'Ard Boyz
Not only smoke and mirrors, but also steed of shadows!
I played a few Ard Boyz practice games over the weekend, with a shadow Teclis (& no other mages). Won two and drew one.
In the drawn game, I foolishly deployed Teclis in a vulnerable position on my left flank. I was trying to get in range of Thorek, to drop a pit on him and end the game quickly (Blood and Glory scenario). Stupidly, I assumed Thorek was the general - nope! Teclis' unit got sandwiched between rangers, miners, and warriors, and only a timely steed of shadows saved him. My whole left flank collapsed - but luckily so did my opponent's left flank as well. By the end of the game, Teclis had traveled the entire long length of the board, and Thorek still held the hill!
I also played a Teclis vs Teclis, my shadow vs his life. We both could have played a little better. The game was decided not by any unstoppable spells, but instead by two bad decisions by my opponent: a poor deployment of his cavalry behind some buildings, and a charge with a huge unit of LSG with the banner of eternal flame against... my dragon princes. Nevertheless, I barely pulled out a win.
A poor decision on my part was not to mindrazor when I got a charge on Teclis' unit (in a building). We both had trouble doing serious damage to each other - the only units which actually died to the man were my shadow warriors, and his RBTs and small archer units. Dwellers is hurtful to big units but you need something else to finish them off.
