I own exactly 3 finecast models. 1 a goblin on a squig that I received many years ago in the Secret Santa (off the top of my head it was john rainbow, but I'd have to get the mini out and read what I wrote under the base to be 100% sure). The other two are the Everqueen, and a Handmaiden, because they only came in finecast.

Anyway, I'm working on painting up the handmaiden, and her spear had become bent. Does anyone know a good method of making it straight again?

Heating it seems to be the way to go. Most people suggest that hot water should do the trick (anything over 60 degrees C, don't go too warm). Another tip seems to be that after you've bent it back in shape, rapidly cool it in ice cold water so it actually sets. Otherwise it'll bend back slowly. It might take a few tries to get it straight completely.

After a couple of tries I've given up on trying to straighten the spear on my Gor charioteer. Maybe I'm just that kind of person though

I realized I was over thinking it. Since the part of the spear that's under her hand was the problem i could just glue it to the base and force it straight.

Violence is always an answer ...
