OK, I've changed the thread title again to make it essentially open-ended.

I've been modelling an unorthodox unit of Bloodletters, aiming to finish by the end of May, then post a pre-painting shot up with a few comments. June will be for painting!

Haha. I hope to finish the mordheim range shadow warriors plus a couple other random things in June. Then I will be taking a few months off. Hopefully I"ll be back at it strong in October.

I'm taking a hiatus from my warhammer figures (both 40K and fantasy). Been assembling a late war Soviet force for Flames of War and painting up Zombicide figures, slowly. This last week has seen me actually apply paint to 6 more zombies, so that's good. I've also assembled a platoon of T34/85s.

Headed back to Switzerland for work for a few months and my wife is getting a kidney transplant while we are there. I figure I'll use the free time I have left to play in the mountains and practice my german. I'll probably take a warband or two and a couple bloodbowl teams just in case I want to get some games in. Beyond that the only hobby work I'll do is take some pictures for insperation.

All the best to your family Shannar!

Alith Anar and Teclis were my pledge for April but I couldn't make it on time. Last evening I finished AA, Teclis will be done tonight.

Teclis completed last night...well not 100% completed, but I don't have nerves to deal with it anymore...maybe later.

Bloodletters

Image

The basic models are 5th edition Bestigor, inspired by the 6th edition Bloodletters, here:

Image

The main man is an old 3rd edition Jes Goodwin Chaos Champion, while the musician is a Blood Bowl Beastman, with a High Elf horn! The standard bearer is a converted Chaos Sorcerer, I cut off his knife and gave it to the musician. The flag itself is from the 6th edition Grave Guard. It all sounds a bit rarefied but those were the bits I needed to get a coherant unit.

Myth, I can't make your pictures out, I'm only seeing 'image'.

@Shannar; as SA says, good luck with the surgery for your wife. I hope things go OK with her. If you do end up with some inspiration pictures, feel free to share them. Inspiration is always good.

Small update on my part. The dragon rider is done. All that's left to do now is paint up the base (which has already started). Not going to post any WiP pictures of the rider. I like keeping it to myself until the model is done ;)

No, still not working for me. Clicked on the 'image' bit and got a 'not found'. I've tried on both Android and iOS, could it be a mobile thing? Can you other guys see the pics?

Guys, it seems that google photos doesn't allow direct URLs anymore, so I assume pictures are visible only when my account on google is active.
I'll try upload pics from Photobucket, it should be working...please let me know if it is visible.

My pledge: By the end of the year I will have finished

1 Dragon (now done)
6 Shadow Warriors (now done)
10 Reavers
1 Phoenix (base done - should be a quick ish paint I imagine)
4 RBT (RBTs are done, I'm just doing crew)
1 Prince on foot
1 Mounted Mage
12 Silver helms (finishing off the gems and flowers for these guys was the one thing hanging over me from my list of painting tasks last year)
Bring me my bow of burning gold, bring me my arrows of desire, bring me my spear O' Clouds unfold, bring me my chariot of FIRE!

Check out my rather slow caledor themed painting log and my dragon project... also my faster moving nurgle themed Warriors of Chaos themed painting log

Musician

Image

This guy was a Blood Bowl player! Left hand replaced with one holding a knife. The horn is from the 3rd edition elf range in the 80's.

I'm starting to get the painting urge quite strong...

...things I'd like to get started on:
[*]dragon (bought part painted, but would like to get more on it)
[*]fire pheonix (basic - bought assembled, would like to use it in games)
[*]fire pheonix (kit bashed - really wanna finish this conversion)
[*]repairs - so many of my models have suffered from moving house, poor quality move boxes for travel to club, etc, and need some TLC
[*]sea guard...I use them in T9A now, and have loads from IoB, and they're much nicer models than the semi-painted spears which I currently use instead on account of them being 'painted', so would love to get a unit of these bad boys on the table and painted by my own fair hand...

I was active with painting this year, although last 2-3 months not so, I did almost all special characters.
Currently I'm finishing 9 shadow warriors (6th edt models).
In the queue for this year:
- Order of the Fiery Heart (Dragon mage)
- Fire phoenix
- Lion chariot

My current WIP, nine Grey Watchers (Shadow Warriors).
They are almost over, just a few details remained (pictures are from first stage of painting).

They look nice. I'm wondering if they could use an extra highlight or spot-color somewhere. Now, when viewed from the front, no details pop out. Of course, the difficulty there is that since they're Grey Watchers they're supposed to be shadowy...
