How do people achieve a nice High Elf blonde hair look?

I don't want yellow and I don't want platinum, something more like the colour / effect of the Sisters of Avelorn in the High Elf Army Book (the blonde ones, not the one with warlock-white hair). The same models are in the How to Paint Citadel Miniatures High Elves, but for some reason the guide does not include the colours used for the hair.

base: xv-88
Wash/shade: aggrax earthshade
layer: balor brown
highlight: mix of balor brown and ushitabi bone.

Not sure if thats the paint used to get that specific hair but this does give a natural blondish look.
