Thanks!

It will be the frosty first, because I don't have to do any sculpting to make it paintable...
There is still so much work to be done on the flamespyre (gap filling, feather sculpting, flame sculpting) and i don't think i can dedicate the time to it at the moment.

Once they're both painted, i'll be sculpting up the bases in an end-times theme with fissured ground, warped trees etc. It will certainly be fun, but time consuming. Watch this space :)

Brad

Because shadow warriors are the worst waste of points we have, they're for Skink Skirmishers and chameleons. The large one is for my terradon riders. I can't wait to paint and decorate these... But there's so much more I've got to do first! Work commitments getting in the way of my hobby!

Cowboys assemble? ;) I like the greenstuff details a lot - the leaves on the base are a nice touch.

Thanks Lee!
He will be far from the lone cowboy though, he will have a unit of friends and another character as well :)
I have another stint of filing to go on the weapon. Want to get it nice and sharp!
Then painting!

Very impressive work on that weapon! Are the details sculpted on or did you have some kind of a mould to add them?

Hey solith!
Thanks! It's actually a reverse press of one of the stegadon howdah floors. I made 2 of them, cut them to size and glued them onto some plasticard. Fiddly bugger, but the saurus rider was the worst pain in the butt! He was actually the older metal standing model.

This guy, found him on Google. Someone else's work, but this is the model mine is made from!

Fantasy is life. You should slowly drift away from 40k and keep painting up those amazing lizardmen. =)

Fantasy is where my heart is. I'm doing the 40k thing because I have friends who play 40k and I feel like I should join in a bit. You know, obligations of friendships and such...

Here's what i was distracted by.... (ready to paint now actually)

yea I'd imagine. That sword is hard enough to hold without molding a thin layer of green stuff over it?

I actually drilled a pin through the hand and used greenstuf to precariously hold it in place while it dried. Then another bit of greenstuff for style.
Saurus scar vet and/or cold one riders are next. As well as completion of oldblood's painting.

Will have a picture next week. I promise!

Brad

Thanks. The forums sucks and wouldn't let me upload a new one, so i had to host it at my photobucket.

I should have the oldblood finished in the next few days (when i get my hands on some blood for the blood god)

Honest opinion. The flower looks a little out of place. Maybe it's the size or maybe it's the color. I think you should either try a different flower that isn't the size of the cold one's entire leg, or paint the flower itself a color that isn't the same as the blood red you got going on there. Purple, blue, or orange would stand out better.
Other than that. Sweet looking model.

Thanks snow, that's exactly the feedback I was after!
The flower isn't there just for looks. The saurus model is old and metal, while the cold one only contacts the base imbibe spot quite far back, so I needed to make something to bear weight. Flower seemed like the right choice

Ok. That makes a lot more sense then. I saw that there were 2 flower buds but was wondering why you put it on such a interesting angle underneath the cold one and out the other side. But since it's a load-bearing-flower. That makes a bit more sense. =)

On a side note, I actually work at a flower shop. Load bearing flowers don't exist. Haha!

BAHAHAHAHA! That's awesome.

It's a lustrian plant. One I invented, so it can be as load bearing as I want!
Really, though, it's just a large flower with a thick stalk which the cold one is in the process of stepping on in his pursuit of food/battle.

O man! Lot better than the pink and red. Stands out as a flower as supposed to blending in with the color of blood on the rider. That and the grass really helps too. Looks good!

Amazing how such a small detail can bring a model to life. It looks great - I love saurus models.

Thanks guys :)
The only change i've made since these pics is that i've dropped some green on the innermost petal (to make it more realistic and less boring).

And now for something completely different.... ANOTHER Dinohorse rider!
Image

I'm considering making a change to extend the top end of the weapon, rather than the bottom end. What do you guys think?
