Hi. I loved reading your blog so far!!

I'm shocked that it's your first attempt at painting. Keeping the model so cleanly painted is a lot harder than it looks and this is far superior than my first attempts, plus the freehand is superb!!

You asked for C&Cs so I thought I'd suggest adding a bit more depth. You can do this by layering and edge highlights which gives a nice clean look for high elves... Then washes work great on metals and such
Bring me my bow of burning gold, bring me my arrows of desire, bring me my spear O' Clouds unfold, bring me my chariot of FIRE!

Check out my rather slow caledor themed painting log and my dragon project... also my faster moving nurgle themed Warriors of Chaos themed painting log

Awesome stuff, looking forward to seeing it painted up :)
But as a new player I have to ask...what's the point of all these unit fillers?
Is it just a way of avoiding buying physical models?

For example: Your unit of 5 x 4 Phoenix Guard has 11 models in it. Does that actualyl count as a unit of 20?
I'd have thought that might make casualty removal a bit of a pain. Do you just use dice to count casualties?

Thanks :)

Thanks guys i ll do my best!

@NiallCambell: Yes that is the exact purpose of the unit fillers initially,(avoid buying or painting dozens of the same models) they also make your army more scenic  .Also no problem with casualties..

I love the colour fading into the silver of the bow. It's really effective, and something i've ALWAYS tried to create (without success).
If there's one pointer i could offer for the archer, it's that the blue seems to be very monotone. I would suggest either adding another layer of highlight or run a blue wash over it and pick out the high points with the existing highlight.
I just feel it needs as much depth as you've given the white.

Also, maybe paint the lips a darker shade of skin colour? :)
Regards,
Brad

You are right in both of your observesions! Now that i see the mini on photo i see that too.I ll try to improove the face a bit with washes and darker skin tone which i did initially , but i ve ruined it with my last highlight :( ! About the blue i ;ll try shading it a bit more, in reallity it doesn't look so plain :? but now that i see the photo it does :| !Thank you very much!

That a nice army, I love the little touches you've used to theme things, especially your reavers and silver helms. Paint jobs are clean and detailed should look great when finished!

Very nice - good contrast between the colours, lovely transitions on the shading, nice detail work and excellent bows :)
