You're worried about scale and then BOOM go for the trident? HaHa~ A Wave Mistress?
The sword is fine, although the lack of guard is a little disturbing.

She's beautifully painted! Nice directional lighting from the flame, and I actually like the blade.

I did a few subtle changes and now I am going to think of some fluff for her.

There are times when I become a little tired of painting so many gems and pretty faces. And what better cure there can be than a Nurgle Lord?

It is verdigris washed down from his helm (or should be ).

Do you also find these non-elven models so much easier to paint?
Thanks for your words. I read through the Masterclass book and finally started to understand how some of the tricks work.

Ha, I read it and can't get the hang of them. ;)

By your new profile picture, I'm guessing your painting talents aren't limited to models? ;)

It takes a leap of faith (watered down paints) and some practice I guess. The downside is that if anything, painting a model takes more time than before.

Ah, well it is very good.

May I ask which techniques exactly you have been using from the book? I might have to try some...

I used some general advice like painting from inside out (that usualy means you start with skin, but here, well, you can imagine what was painted first. I used an old paint pot to hold the model better. Tried to water down the paints and do more layers. I finally understood what a glaze is... And used (with some minor modifications) the step by step on painting metal on the Chaos Lord and flesh painting guide for Urien Rakarth. I am not brave enough to try NMM.

Good advice. I might use an old paint pot and paint from inside out...

And I've started to thin my paints too - woo! :D

Wow your skill is improving at an amazing pace (if the 1st minis in the log are painted by the same person as the latest ones!)

I find khoril, the seaguard, the mage lady and your nurgle lord simply amazing. The archers and plastic mage in page 1 were also very good.

But then some models look like unfinished? like spearmen, PG and white lions?

Finally i want to mention the way you painted the ''white flames''. Very cool all of them with shades of different colours while keeping the flame loyal to to its ''real'' colour :D

With the exception of Caranor, the mounted noble, they are. They are posted more or less in chronological order and were painted in last year and half. Must say I became somewhat addict to miniature painting lately...

Thank you! I also find your work amazing by the way . It seems I am the only one here who likes our Archers. I think they are grateful. :D

But then some models look like unfinished? like spearmen, PG and white lions?

In what way? Do they need more shading, change of colours or something else?

I was gazing into flames for a long time before I devised this scheme.
Thank you for the feedback!

I also like the archers, not so much the spearmen though. so i guess that makes it 2 of us who like em ;P

About the unfinished appearance of the models i mentioned, yes. I think it has to do with the almost non existant shading of the metallic parts.

I suppose they don't look quite finished. They certainly look good though! :D

I like the archers too, and nice spearelves can be made by combining them with archer parts. ;)

Yes, shading is very light on these models (Enchanted blue mostly), I will add some depth to it one day (I suspect it will take much more than one day. I changed my recipe for armour so new ones should have more "finished" look. At least I hope so.
Returned home to Saphery for a time before I get back to painting Dreadfleet for the April challenge. So my next theme is Swordmasters - or better - a Swordmaster.

I <3 your recruitment posters.

I love the pose of that Sword Master! His Great Weapon on his shoulder and hand on his hand weapon, like: You're not worthy to die by the big sword.

I like it. The background is very good, and I love your metals. I'm rubbish at metals.

But I disagree with the slogan. ;)

Pleased to hear you like it. This one was fun. And thanks to some inspiration (think all those "arrogant" runes) I was able to give the model some detail. And I even got to practice with watercolours. :D

You are allowed to disagree of course. If you like, I have some WIP pics of the armour to post here later.

Yes, visiting Hoeth is unforgettable. :D
Next one I suspect will be our golden boy from Cothique. I have him primed, but to gain some colour he will have to wait till next time I get back to Saphery. It may take a while - wide seas and vast skies ahead...

Great looking poster.

Personally, for a slogan for saphery, I would go for something like: "our elf maiden know magic too"
