Pedrogzc High Elves "Rojelfos" painting blog

#1 Post by pedrogzc »

Hi!

Some shots from my growing army... Two years ago, inspired by a red dragon prince fom Micro Art studio, I decided to change whole army to a red theme. I'm working in the background about a punish raid on Naggaroth, so put snow on the bases, but i think i would rebase the whole army to another style, perhaps a temple or similar.

an old shot...

I was lucky to get another 15 models of old Sea Guard... command group awaiting

Teclis, the photo is terrific! He got an ugly pink tone on the skin, where I tried to achieve a tone of someone sick but powerful

Now Im working on change all blades to a "magic" deepblue like the "polloman" lance style.

Soon swordmaster, lion chariot and more!

Here we go with more advances

First nearly finished Sword Masters. I will change the standard cause don't like it very much. Also considering to turn the crests to a orange-yellow tone; the greu-blue is too much similar to the blade. What do you think?

Image

Now the Everqueen maidens. Just the gold basecoat with sephia wash. My high elves are supposed to be Noldor, so near everybody get black hair, but with these girls are going to make an exception to bring contrast with the blade of the spear that will be also blueish.

Do you like it?

See you soon!

Those red SM are awesome, and Maiden Guard are always good, especially in gold.

updates! Gold, red and skin finished.

I'm not sure about the hair; blonde doesn't stand out from gold and black could be confused with blue blades.
Here there are two samples, what do you think? Blonde or black hair

Also I'm working on my cavalry prince

Personally I love the blondes. They don't pop from the gold but they look great. However, part of me wonders how they'd look with mix and match hair color? Dwarven units still look uniform when they're done up

Love the maiden guard. I might just steal a few of the ideas when I get round to painting mine.

How do you do the cloak and the weapons?

Also, great looking army. They realy look good put together in the army shot. Very uniform.

What are you going to do next?

Hi Rod!

The red is quite simple: mechrite red, wash of griphon sephia, and two higlights, first blood red then add blazing orange to red (or is fiery orange, i'm not sure, anyway is the darker one)

For the blades, base of black + regal blue, then sucesive highlights of regal blue + white

For my 10th month of "Leyenda" I'm not sure what to paint; perhaps 9 silver helms or 20 white lions.

Greetings!

Since a nice collection of classics and well painted!
For the dwarfs, there was only this. Hammerson met Grombrindal’s gaze, and the White Dwarf nodded slowly. If it must be done, let it be done well. Whether they were dead or alive, that was the only way dwarfs knew how to do anything.

And Grombrindal said "10 from the back, yeah?"
