Ethoryeel's Caledorian Expeditionary Force

#1 Post by Botjer »

This is my slowly growing, heavily converted Caledorian force.

Spot the parts they are made of

The pictures are huge so, you can for example copy their address into a new browser window to zoom.

looks excellent. Do you sculpt it scale by scaly, or do you cover the horse with GS and cut out the pattern?

You cover the side you are doing. then you mark out a crisscross pattern.
then you start at the bottomscales first, you press the upper part of each scale inwards and up under the scale above and then yo form the lower part of the scale and work your way up.

i think theres a guide somewere.

anyhow, im suprised you didnt react to my "eagles" :P

That's a rather unique looking army you have there, I like it, the colours are nice, the shading appears to be well does for a lazy painter =P

Yeah, i like your eagles as well (although to be honest i did not recognized them immediately as eagles)
The double wings is a smart solution. :D

Nice shadow warriors - Dark Elf corsairs and archer arms? I would like the shadow warriors though, as I'm going through something of a shadow warrior phase! The eagles are cold one based, right? Don't know about the wings.

Did I get all of the parts right? [-o<

Corsairs with Glade Guard arms? Might look more dragon like...

Botjer, I will venture a guess and say the wings are Dark Eldar scourge wings, based o. Your post in the thread a out the GE stand in model. I am thrilled by that idea of yours and within the next 48 hours will be on my way to pick some up ;)

No, they are Tyranid Gargoyle wings.
Can we see some close ups of them please..

I like what you did with their snouts.

Dammit!
Asurion is right. its gargoyle wings :)

and as there are 10 gargoyles in a gargoyle box you get just enough wings to kit out the five coldones in the cold one rider box :)

about the snouts, i took some greenstuff and gave them a pointier snout, it worled wounders :)

ill post some closeups later today.

I know because I also have made winged Coldones, but with a different approach to the head.., and only one set of wings.

Can't wait for those pics. :)

Any non-Imageshack pictures/galleries? I'd love to see your work but most of your links appear useless. I've always had issues with Image Shack.

We've started with something weird, warhammer fantasy has bored me for quite a while, but now some of us at the club have started playing warhammer but with hail caesar rules. It has really rejuvinated wargaming for me.

Good choice of colours, the slightly darker tones work very well. Nice Handmaiden conversion, too!
