Love it. Very striking paint job. And both very different and very much the same as the other one. They'll look great on the battlefield. Perhaps it's slowly becoming time for an army shot... ;)

Im coming back home in 2 weeks, ill try to do some army shots then with all the army together. We are also preparing a macro battle between 8 players which will include a siege (1st time for my siege rules to be tested after 4 years!) Ill upload some shots of the event also.

i just tried to copy the one from GW, the original looks more oilish than mine though. fundation yellow, then golden yellow to white, then some brown in the lower part of the bigger vomit drops and finally shinning varnish.

Think I like this guy best of the three, he's excellent.

Perhaps because the menace is understated.

hey guys thanks. Yeah i also think this may be the best one. I used a really high amount of different tones on his skin (3 colours in various mixes and 4 different washes, 8 different washes total in the whole model!) I also worked out the scales bettter, even if it cant be noticed much.

I also did cut the painting time from 15 hours on the 1st troll to something like 12 on this one, without looking for speed. So i guess i was getting more and more efficient as i painted more trolls.

Okkk Lets see what the next year brings  Happy holidays everybody!

hey guys, here are the promised pics of our official christmas ''geek day''. We recreated a siege on marienburg during the great war agaisnt chaos of 2301, a Khorne thirster attacking the city with the help of greenskins agaisnt marienburger, high elves and bretonnian defenders who also had a liberation force attacking from behind.

The pics are somehow messy, i tried to put some order in them though. It was a total blast of a day with 7K of defenders agaisnt 11K of attackers. The result was completely unimportant heheh.

Man that looks epic! So many great models on the table and 18k worth of models. Amazing! And it's good to see some of your elves on the table again.

Indeed a game where the outcome doesn't actually matter all that much. Though, out of curiosity, who won? ;)

Thank you for sharing.

Hey guys. Yes it was amazing. I think only 2 Monsters and 2 regiments were not painted. Those white wolf cav are indeed friend's top job on his empire.

About the battle we could do almost no planning because it was my last week in holland and i was very busy making all ready to return home so thw winning conditions ended up being impossible to fulfill for the attackers (i played orcs there btw). The whote wolves and silver helms made a sally in the beginning to stop the ram. Silver helms were banished by the demons but the wolved held several chaos units on place for the whole battle. The bretonnians outside were crushed to the last man. Some walls were taken by the attackers but not enough to claim a victory. It was very possitive anyhow, because we couls test my siege rules for the 1st time and we already worked out many improvements. Also everybody is so excited now with how nice the game was that they are very focused into doing more sieges.

Finally we already started working on an improvement of the castle by doubling the wall and towers thickness, because as you can see in the pics the walls and towers are too small and not many models can fit in them. Hopefully i can paint some of it during january. I will keep you guys updated on the progress.

Indeed, doubling or tripling the space on the walls where models can stand would be a good improvement. But for a first siege it looks epic. How long did the battle take?

Looks great. And more usable in-game, with the bigger walkways. It makes a stunning battlefield. You're lucky with your gaming group.

Let us know when it makes an appearance in a game.

Finished the thing now 100%, decorated with sand/grass:

Image

And a last touch of dust on the low walls.

We did 6 towers, 3 long wall sections, 2 short wall sections, 1 double gate section, 1 single gate section (unopenable).
We are also working on the lords bastion and a cracked wall section.
