Great Eagle alternative models

#1 Post by Furion »

Hey there,

I used the search function and checked the last 3 pages of this subforum. No results, so I make a new topic.

I am looking for an alternative to great eagle models. The requirements are as follows:

1. Durable. No sharp, pointy, easy to break edges.
2. Easy to transport. They have to be flat and small.
3. Gaming compatible. They have to be small. I plan to mount them as Sky Sloop mounts. The birds have to be in "fly" position and the wingspan should be between 3" to 5".

I tried to google, but haven't found any suitable results.

Maybe someone has solved this problem already?

cheers

A Sky Sloop is a 9th Age unit and doesn't have a official GW model, right? Is there a reason the Skycutter model can't be used? Also, should it be an eagle model or would a different creature work?
Gamezone makes alternative eagles as does Reaper. The ones from Gamezone look more like they may be pulling something, but may be large: Gamezone II Gamezone III
There's also the old-school high elf eagles from GW before they got larger: Warning, it's an ebay link
You could convert the eagle from warhawk riders if you're ok with their partial head covering.

Shieldwolf makes two eagles, I got them in the kickstarter last year and they're decent. You'd need to cut them off the bases but they're resin so it shouldn't be too hard. Size is comparable to the GW eagles.
