Well, when I first saw the pics, I also had the "this is IT??" reaction. As a resident of Saphery and a long time fan of Hayao Miyazaki I actually like the chariot. I will give the eagle freedom though. I do not want him impaled on that spike. But I think most of the models will make great base for conversions.

I already have plans for the chariot, atm sitting on top of a water spout is one top, but replacing the eagle with something Sea worthy might work too.

As the new book is coming and my local club is organising a tournament at level 2600 points ETC, I would like to give my Dragon Lord his last stand:) I don't know what will be playable in new HE meta, but still dragon list is my favourite gaming style since 6th edition.
Here is the list, let me know what do you think about that:

- Dragon Lord: star dragon - 627p
- armour of caledor
- Vambraces of def.
-The other T.S.
- great weapon

- Mage, 2lvl, Light - 185p
- Ring of fury
- Silver Wand

- BSB, Light - 174p
- RGoH
- Charmed shield
- Great weapon, dragon armour

- 30 Spear Elves - 310p
- FCG, Standard of Discipline

- 10 archers, musician - 115p

- 10 archers, musician - 115p

- 12 archers, musician - 115p

- 24 White Lions, FCG - 400p.
- Talisman of Loec

- 23 White Lions, FCG - 415p.
- Amulet of Light

- 7 Swordmasters, musician, champion - 123p

- Great Eagle
- Great Eagle

I'm not sure about lores, but my favourite Metal lore will not be usefull, as there is just 1 empire army already signed in and nothing more really heavy armoured. 3 TK players, 2 O&G, some dwarfs. Well, so far 14 players on the list, we will see how it'll change, maybe I will switch to metal, but so far light seems to be ok.

I'm still not sure if I want to have him painted in nmm or true metalics.
Simply, I'd like to finish him asap because new elves are coming, that's why I decided to true metalics, but most of my heroes are painted in nmm, as you can notice in this topic;)

Still a loooooot to do, but damn, I need more time!

The Dragon list is one of my favourites too. I like the look of your list but there is the potential for the Dragon to get stranded on it's own. Have you thought about the Banner of Swiftness? This is also why Curu and then myself included the Eagle BSB in order to enhance the idea of movement flexibility in the list and be able to concentrate force at a single point.

As for the paint job, you never cease to amaze. Keep it up!

Great painting on the models! Like many i'm a fan

With 2600pts, a general on a dragon and a BSB on an eagle. With that many points you're gonna face 2,3,4 cannons in the opposing army. Aren't you guys a little worried that at least one of those 2 gets blown to pieces in turn 1?
I'm asking becaus with 2000pts i face 2 ogre cannon on regular basis, and i so not onna put a dragon and a bsb-eagle on the battle field.
I would appreciate a response

The Star Dragon Prince will require two cannon shots to remove competely, so unless there are three or four cannons on the table he'll be fine for a turn.

So, new book has arrived and my dragon lord suits not really at 2400 level, 70points to spare for magic kit is not enough to make the dragon lord optimal.
I think I will give a chance to archmage roster and annoited on frost phoenix, I need to try both of them.
Meanwhile, I'm still painting my dragon (or just pretending to paint, as I was on short holidays abroad, like 7 days or so with my girl) but today I decided to boost my lions to full 30 men unit.
I was looking for metal Korhil model everywhere, but he is no more available, so I decided to make my own WL champion;p

Image

I really like those oldschool metal models.
I've got also 4 or 5 WLs and I will make a unit filler counting as 8 lions.

I removed a base from my old blind Eltharion und I will rebase him soon to fit my army theme.
He will be my Loremaster, such a great model for such a great rules, at last I found a proper role for him.

I finished assembling 10 new archers from old bits, there are ready to paint.

Does anybody playtested sisters of avelorn? I'm wondering what I need more now, phoenixes, chicks from avelorn or PG.

That 6th ed white lion standard bearer is my favorite WL models of the old, love the conversion idea and waiting for painting ofc.

Paint the dragon grr

Blind eltharion loremaster is a fantastic idea! Have to steal that one :D

With the lack of flaming banner on our archers the sisters fill a valuable role. I've only used them in a small unit(6-7) so far. I don't think I'll make them any bigger, but I don't go without them either.

Which metal korhil are you looking for? the old one shows up on e-bay fairly often, sometimes at a good price.

I'd love to find that one in metal. But the best I've found is $14 for a painted one. Way to much for something I'm going to have to strip.

I know what you mean about using the old stuff though. I have very few of the new plastics. Just spears if those count as new, but I did pick up some of the newest stuff.

Ok, I added some tiny detail but I think he looks much better now, more "balanced" let me say.

Image

But I don't want to spam so much, that's why I want to show you my old tiranoc chariot, I found the photo recently, maybe it will be usefull again;)

Image

I'm not sure also, if I showed you years ago my version of Selafyn, it was my first serious try on NMM armour, not very shinny as I can do it now, but then I was so proud of him;))

That's the way it goes. I'm not that great of a painter, but I'm still constantly amused remembering how proud I was of my old work.

That small bit of detail makes a huge difference on the champion.

Hi, a new update:)
I rebased today my blind Eltharion, painted years ago, but now at last he matches good to my army.
Here we go, Galharen's Loremaster is ready!:)
I painted glowing runes at steps but they can't be seen from that angle;/

Image

Image

I've got also a proper model for Sea Helm.
Naval Discipline seems to be very usefull with WL block.

Image

Also, when I was making the new base for Loremaster, I made a base for WL champion to, hail to the Simba, Lion King xD

Exactly how I'm using both of those models. They just fit to well not to, and honestly I like them better then the new ones by a fair bit- even if elitherian seems to have no clue how to hold a sword.

True :D How do failcast models fight?

Great works as always. Is it just me or is your palette getting more and more pastel?

cheers from Warsaw!

They are old models, just with some small touches, like bases or so on.
My style at the moment looks like it was shown on my BSB, it's my most recent paintjob.

and please admit, that models in TT quality, like those above or my units, I'm trying to paint possible quick. My showcase quality looks a litte bit different:D

But I've got a question to you guys - does anybody have some bits from phoenix box? I mean all those parts from fire phoenix when someone assembled ice one and the same in second combination.

One among many RnF models, it's just a tiny addition to my army so come on, easy :)

I'm considering right now if it makes sense to make phoenix from IoB griffon and bits from phoenix box. I've griffon, I can buy those bits almost for free, what I need is more green stuff, but...? I'm not the sculptor:D

Has anybody seen maybe some phoenix toys or something? :)
