amazing in technique as usual in your works, but dont you think there are too many bright colours in there? (i mean yellow, green, red and blue) I would maybe pull the green on the belt away.

Hi,
as I see, all my high elves army photos are gone, so I would like to refresh my blog as I'm going back to painting and Playing!:)

So, my high elves: (apart from first one, the Elf lord was painted for ebay purpose)

- well, that lord was my best painted elf imo, I hope the owner is happy with the result right now:)

looks like Boca Juniors :p
Bring me my bow of burning gold, bring me my arrows of desire, bring me my spear O' Clouds unfold, bring me my chariot of FIRE!

Check out my rather slow caledor themed painting log and my dragon project... also my faster moving nurgle themed Warriors of Chaos themed painting log

hehe, I wish that xD
I focus right now to bulk my WL and spear units a bit, up to 24-30 models.
After that I will try to paint my BSB, heavily converted.

As I'm back to playing again, I need to change my gaming style from ancient cavalery roster;p to new fashions.
So I small update, few elves painted few days ago, behind them 5 archers and 1 more spearman in progress.

Hi, tonight I started working on my BSB model, let's have a look and tell me what do you think about him so far:

Well, it all started from chaos (my working desk at the moment;p)

HE noble, I started paiting loooong time ago, now I decided to use that part of model as my bsb

and how it works together.

Well, I'm planning to make a big rocky base und put there a dragon's head and my elf will stand proudly next to his little pupil stroking him.
I know it will be tough as hell to put him into the unit, but still, first of all, I'm the HE fun and painter, game rules are not so importat as good looking army^^

That's a nice surface for some freehand.

That lord with the sword/shield and mage are one of the best painted HE models I've seen so far.
Keep up the good work and please update this blog frequently :)

My new battle standard bearer is now finished!;)
I want to make some detaling job with the base, such as green stuff waves, maybe some ruins, but everything must suits to my whole army look.
What do you think about him?
Honestly, I can't wait to see him painted :) :)

My only criticism is about his left sleeve. It might be an idea to file it down, as it looks like gravity has gone a bit weird.

Today I started painting process;)
During the break I'm wondering about an idea of freehand on banner.
As sunset is a common freehand in my army, maybe I should go that way too?
Or some king of dragon? White lion has been already painted on WL filler standard, you can see him few posts above.

Sunset in my mind. As BSB, he carries the colors of the general, and the Sunset on the Prince's shield is very nice.

Glowing eyes - that's a cool addition.

Great so far. Bravo! :D

Small update.
Well, I'm not particularly satisfied with the sword, but for the gaming purpose I think it's enough.
But really, I've not had so much pleasure during painting HE heroes since a very long time;)

Wanted to ask about the glowing eyes technique. Do you paint the skin to completion first? Is the 'glow' simply an application of blue glaze?

Yes, I paint the whole face completely at first.
Glowing effect is made of glazes, as you said. It's important to use a very watered paint, it's always better to make more thin layers, than one or two too thick.

well, it's the bsb for my privat army, so I didn't try to paint it with my highiest quality, mainly because of lack of time, but still I wanted him to be a centre-piece of my army, something out-standing.
Some of my troops are waiting to be painted, so I must hurry with that hero;)

I've finished the elf, now time to deal with the banner.

I found a nice photo which is a good inspiration for banner pole. Still I'm not sure about the theme, but dragon seems to be "agressive, inspirational, proud" enough as for the battle standard. if you have an other idea, please share with me;)

Here is what I found:

Good stuff. Thanks for confirming that. I'm going to give it a try tonight.

Ok, I decided to use the dragon theme.
Unfortunately I didn't make it to paint completely my bsb till weekend, because tomorrow I'm gonna participate in local 2400 points tournament.
I hope my army will stand and fight without their new BSB:)
"dragon project" begins tomorrow, I hope to post some updates soon.

Your painting is miles ahead of most people here. I'm not a fan of the bright colour schemes or even the blueish armour but those are just my personal tastes. Everything you've done comes out very well.
For the dwarfs, there was only this. Hammerson met Grombrindal’s gaze, and the White Dwarf nodded slowly. If it must be done, let it be done well. Whether they were dead or alive, that was the only way dwarfs knew how to do anything.

And Grombrindal said "10 from the back, yeah?"
