OK, maybe not, but regardless its about time for another painting comp. I remember folks batting around a Mage painting showdown (during the last comp - how rude! ). I'm cool with that, or just about anything else really. The only stipulation that I would push is we continue to keep the comps limited to HEs only (or a reasonable facsimile thereof).

You know, I've been collecting longer than some of the younger posters here have been alive and I have hundreds and hundreds of unpainted models, and yet when my store announced a painting contest I still bought a new miniature just so I could paint it up. I dunno, something wrong there.

We don't have to keep it restrictive (i.e. mages only). This isn't TWF where you've got a widespread of interests and a bunch of jaded painters exhausted by constant contests
Hell, we can alternate big model/small model for all I care!
So if it increases participation, expanding the comp to hero models (US1-2) is fine by me.
Well since I have no High Elves painted but 10,000 points worth it might be time to paint them. I'm in for the tournament. Unit strength 2 with hero models sound great to me.
I just bought a HE mage over the net, so I guess I'll try that one. I think it would be cool to have a contest with just HE mages, but it would be okay if other elven characters wanted to join in.

In the interest of maximizing participation, the competition will be for any US2 or less character - or in other words, one character, mounted or on foot. High Elf (or a reasonable proxy thereof) only.
The due date for a pic of your unpainted model will be April 19th, with the completed model due May 17th (?). That would give everyone a month past the first due date to complete their models.
