Haha, Smyth? The elven version..?

I don't believe elves have last names. They gain titles through deeds, and before the warn titles I believe they would be ...xxx... Son/Daughter of ...xxx...
Like Eltharion, son of Moranion.
Or of Athel Tamarha.

Kitlith

Which means in essence Tyrion's last name would be... Heir of Aenarion? Warden of Avelorn? Champion of the Everqueen? And Teclis' would be... High Loremaster? Loremaster of the White Tower?

Tyrion of the House of Naggarythe? We know that there are elven houses and that some of those use the name of their house as the last name (the house of Anar for instance) while others use the house name more like a title given to great leaders of the house (the house of Caledor is an example here).

Tyrion is Cothiquean.

But verily, the Anars throw out the concept of title and no last/family name.

He grew up in Cothique but he is still a scion of Aenarion's house which was from Naggrythe, even though they might have stopped using the name. In the Latest book both Tyrion and Teclis are taken in by their aunt and grandfather from the house of Emeraldsea so that might be their official names now.

High Elves have silly last names like Swiftclaw, Brightmane, Silverfawn. I really wish GW had been Tolkien like and given them actual elvish sounding surnames like Well... (sorry, too busy laughing over the name Silverfawn.)

Just use a name of a house from elder scrolls that sounds dignifying and run with it.
EDIT: It's probably Emeraldsea

They are titles, not family names.
The names given would be titles from deeds or acts, skills or fighting/strategic style etc.

Kitlith

Then they are at times silly titles. Though why choose to distinguish people with titles over a household name?

King Slayer, the Imp, King of the North, Dragon, Mother of Dragons.

Because those titles often follows great deeds and acts worthy of commendation or sometimes used as a punishment.

Thanks for the replies, it was as I expected. no last names. Then I guess it would be Tyrion, Defender of Ulthuan and Teclis, High Loremaster of the White Tower.

I dont know if it helps, but I found this

http://tolkiengateway.net/wiki/Elven_Customs

And in particular this caught my eye

Cilmessë

As the Noldo grew older, he or she chose a second name, called a cilmessë, or "chosen name". This name reflected the Noldo's unique linguistic tastes. It was not used by those who did not know the Noldo well and would be considered rude to do so, and for this reason no example for a cilmessë is known, as they wouldn't appear in historical records and tales. In those cases, the Father-name (which remained the official name throughout the Noldo's life) would be used.

Of course, I may be, and am quite often, completely wrong
