on the age of elven horses
so, I was wondering; how old do elven horses get? And why do you think they reach that particular age?

Google 42 and you'll see buddy. It is meant as the universal answer to the question what is the meaning of life and everything? If I remember correctly.

Sorry, couldn't resist. 42 is indeed a pop-culture reference to the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. It is the answer to "the question about life, the universe and everything". Just google: what is the answer to life the universe and everything.
It is generally used when you need a (numerical) answer that could be pretty much anything.
In proper response to your question, I think nothing is actually known about it. Some books (sons of elyrion) seem to suggest that HE horses are relatively long lived (as in a HE kid tames a horse and that grows up with him). But no numbers or precise information is given.

Re: on the age of elven horses
I would see them having the same life expectancy as to normal horses, as Elves have to Humans.
Being 20 times or so.
