If CEO of the company says that they don't even do the market research it means they definitely don't care what their customers think or expect.

It would be fantastic to have rules for the game that can be easily scaled down or up depending on what you wish to play. Is GW going to go that way remains to be seen.

That's why I hate direction GW took with 7th and 8th edition it is no longer accessible to new customers and new customers generate a lot of income.

I loved 6th edition it was stripped down, easy to learn and fun. At 2000 pts you needed a lot of models, but even 1200 games were fun with it's army selection rules.

Rules were pretty simple without uncountable special rules, characters were powerful but not that powerful, magic system was great in my opinion without spells that could wipe out whole units ( something like 2d6 S5 was beyond great).

Now it's hard to play a game without looking at all those special rules etc.

Customer research is highly overrated. Best case scenario is that it teaches you something you already know. Worst case scenario is that it delivers you absolute nonsense.

You know what customer research indicated around the time the first cars came out? Customers didn't want cars, they wanted faster horses...

Or to take another example of a company famous for not doing customer research: Apple. How much customer research went into the iPod or iPhone? None at all.

In general, customers tend to think along some very narrow view and are stuck in a very small frame of reference. They don't look at the big picture or think outside the box. If you want to run a successful company, don't listen to what your customer wants. No good product has come out that gives customers exactly everything they want. You give customers what they need. And you can't find that out in market research. You get there by thinking hard and understanding the market. Not by having your customers fill out a silly questionnaire.

But... although I think that they should sift through faqs and perhaps heed some of the suggestions from the community. Their life would be much easier. :-)

RUMOURS (SPOILER ALERT):

Malekith has 2 profiles, 1 for him being Phoenix King, the other for him being the Eternity King. One is 1000 points, the other 800. Some pretty sick rules here: Loremaster Shadow, L5 Wizard, immune to multiple wounds, 10 attacks doing d3+1 wound, innate ability which is basically Walk Between Worlds boosted (once every turn and it's not a spell => no dispel or anything like that can be made), all units within X inches have martial prowess increased to yet another rank and murderous prowess troops can re-roll any failed to wound rolls.

Widowmaker on Tyrion: Auto-wounds, no armour saves, D6 wounds. Cannot be destroyed.

Imrik has a combined profile with the Star Lance, he clocks in at 800 ish points with 10 S7 attacks.

I'm working on confirming some of these, hoping to check back later with confirmed stuff.

CONFIRMED LEAK ON TYRION:

Tyrion, avatar of khaine (700 points).

Statline roughly as it is now. Frenzy, units with Murderous Prowess within 12" with re-rolling all failed (not just 1s), immune to psychology, bound spell summoning undead ("summon the glorious dead", basically skellywarriors).

He still has Dragon Armour and Heart of Avelorn and he rides Malhandir. Widowmaker autowounds, no armour saves, D6 wounds. Cannot be destroyed.

Holy shit.
Malekith+PG is gonna be great.
Would already use shadow with PG anyway but now i dont even have to choose what spells randomly, get them all and then you also get extra rank+malekith for even more killing power.

So PG that fight in 3 ranks, re-rolling 1s to wound (re-roll all failed to wound rolls within 6" of a cauldron of blood)?
you mean 4ranks?

I have been unable to find anything on him. Perhaps he is unchanged. Awaiting my source to go through the book more thoroughly. Currently I have half a dozen pictures which are very blurry. Some are completely unreadable.

I have a feeling I might lose reason to play Fantasy after all,

If they really kill all HE heroes and then enabe to field Pheonix Guards with Cauldron of Blood that's just bad.

I don't have problem with Malekith uniting Elves, but rest is just unacceptable

Tyrion raising dead >? <facepalm>

So Alith Anar is shooting down Tyrion instead of Malekith ? <facepalm>

And Teclis is making everyone uber powerful but he stays the same without absorbing one of winds of magic ? <facepalm>

Does Tyrion let Malhandir handle the widowmaker too?

I call fake on at least some of those rumors. From what the White Dwarf has told us, all wizards will be getting Loremaster, so I seriously doubt they will give Loremaster to Malekith. That just doesn't make any sense.

How awesome considering all wizard get access to lore of undeath with summon skeletons. Basically GW hate HE.

Thanks for uploading all those pictures, curu.

Now, I'm only interested in Imrik as using dragon is my foremost priority in playing HE nowadays.
His rules seem much better than I expected, with decent ward save and nice additional rules.
However, the fact that I have to use the ugly old model means I'll never get to use him in actual games. :(

Imrik is overcosted, I believe. He hits like a ton of bricks, but his defense is lacking. Considering Karl Franz costs the same...

True. But I'm just so satisfied at the very fact that a prince on star dragon has merged profile.

Do you have any info if Teclis really dies ?
A10 S10 with re-rolls on charge is fine but compared to Tyrion not really that great as Tyrion has 6A with re-rolls that autowounds and are D6

So it looks as if Tyrion, Teclis, Korhil, Morathi and the Fellheart all bite the dust! At least Dhurthu survives, although I was hoping for an upgraded "sane" version.

I've just realised "WHERE IS ORION?"

The fact that imrik doesn't multiwound hurts him when compared to Karl, but he's still a very solid choice, compare him to a properly kitted star dragon prince with no combo profile and I think he's worth the extra 170ish pts.

Malekith on the other hand is pure awesome.

I still can't believe they didn't take the opportunity to upgrade the imrik and malekith models.

who cares,
after what I saw I don't wanna to continue playing fantasy as HE have been army I was collecting since I was a kid, and now everything that was cool about is gone.

So it's gonna be Alith Anar who kills Tyrion or Teclis which is even more stupid. #-o

That's a bit of a bummer. Even just for the sake of his character he should have died doing something amazing.

I've been wondering that for a bit honestly. But he'd have to be dead to get the WE following Malakith. Why follow Mal when you've got a god to lead you?

I'm sure he will die in the "final battle". As will all the other incarnates, for that matter.

Wow, Teclis is gone and Malekith rules the elves,,,, in my view it couldn't have been worse. It reads like the very worst form of fanboyism.
