Blood Lotus Mercenaries

#1 Post by Kezza921 »

The origin story of the Blood Lotus mercenary guild and their leader

Kerhi was born to a noble family in Saphery. She showed magical talent at a very young age and this didn't only catch the attention of the white tower. Tzeentch took an interest in her life and at a very young age. Her early years in the white tower were as common as other students but she heard voices, those voices were from Tzeentch. When she was in her early 40s she tried to block them out with a ritual but failed and killed several other students. This act alone caused her to get kicked out of Ulthuan. She left with some troops that where loyal to her family and only a week rations.

They spent a 4 days out before they were under assault in places that had chaos ruins. At one location in the south east an unnatural storm came over and in her head she was offered a dead join him or face the storm. She rejected Tzeentch and a hoard of demons assaulted the ship. During the fight the ship went off course and crashed.

She awoke washed up on a beach only to see a few robed humans and then she passed out again. Later she woke in a temple with the same robes waking around and training. One of them came to her and told her she was in Nippon, she looked at him in shock that the monk was speaking Elvish. The monk explained that he had studied elvish and so has his other monks. She asked where the rest of her crew was. He pointed to the tents outside the monastery, he explained to her that the monks will teach her their nations tough and said to her that they will help quite her mind. Kerhi and her crew spent a year there many of them were not happy but they had no other place to go, they were stranded here like she was. She studied their way of life and she was able to block her mind to others from speaking to her mind whether they be mortal or demon.

After that year they left to find there own way in Nippon. Everywhere they went they were turned away with disgust because they were outsiders. They found themselves in a village and a lord was travelling though. Arrows rained down on the samurai, killing half of them and wounding many others. One of the samurai cried out ambush, Kerhi and her company found themselves stuck in the ambush fighting for their lives. When the ambush had ended the lord approached them and give her the opportunity to serve him. Seeing no reason to refuse she agreed.

Throughout the years Kerhi and her forces proved themselves time and time again. She was given some land and some extra samurai. She made her elected a second out of the elves to serve because she could not be in politics and run the army as well. She held the position for 70 years fighting in many internal wars. When the old Shogun died a war erupted for power. Her lord sent her and her forces off to defend the south. She got word that an army was marching on her lord castle she turned her forces towards the castle to reinforce them. She arrived to late, unwilling to commit seppuku she was a ronin and found herself hated by all yet again. With the war still raging she sold services as a mercenary. Two years later when the war ended she found herself out of work and no lord would take her on she returned to the temple. At the temple she found that it had been burnt to the ground long ago. With nothing holding her their she decided to leave and return to the empire however her second stated that she was unfit to lead and duelled her for leadership. Upon her seconds loss she ordered him and all that follow him to leave before she runs out of mercy. With what was left of her forces she returned and started up a mercenary guild (Blood Lotus) in the empire selling the only thing that they are good at.

Oh yes, suicide is not elves would approve of in most cases. I am not sure she would be exiled from Ulthuan like this, maybe she was expelled from the Tower and couldn't bear the shame?
