New RP

#1 Post by Spartan »

Alright Ulthuan, it's time for some out-of-the-ordinary RPs, courtesy of Uncle Spartan.

I've been cooking up two RP ideas for awhile now, both of which I think are pretty awesome. I'm unsure which one I'd like to kick off first, so I figured I'd just let the potential players decide. Go ahead and read the descriptions below; they're intentionally a bit vague to preserve some element of surprise, but there should be enough information to get a decent idea of whether you'd like it or not. The first RP below is more fleshed out than the second, but rest assured that whichever one garners the most interest will be ready in about a week's time, or by whenever everyone's ready to begin it. So, here they are:

Days of Madness
Act One: Dance of the Märchenkönig

Set in 19th century Bavaria, this RP revolves around a motley group of Bavarians trying to dethrone the dangerously insane King Ludwig II. It's vaguely based on historical events, but ventures heavily into anachronisms, fiction, and alternate historical timelines. This isn't action- or adventure-heavy, but you can expect lots of politicking, intrigue, eccentricity, and funny German stereotypes. It uses an adapted version of the SPAM system, and will have a highly-structured game event system. This will be the first of three "acts" comprising a larger RP story arc, and relative success in this one will guarantee you a spot in the next act.

Ragnarock!
or:
A Saga of Warrior-Brothers Vengeful and Unmourned

This one's your standard action/adventure RP, at least mechanically. Conceptually, however, it's a bit different. Derived loosely from the setting of the game Brütal Legend, it'll be as epic and righteous as I can make it. Here, the Metal will come alive as you venture through a gloriously war-torn fantasy world that'll melt your freakin' face off. You've gotta love epic metal to really get into this one, though there'll also be a bit of common ground for those with eloquent tongues and battle-ready hearts. And a passion for faux-Norse mythology doesn't hurt, either. Characters will have more free will in this SPAM-based RP, though I'll still be heavily involved with guiding the overall story. Art thou prepared?

So, there you have it. If you're interested in either one of these RPs, go ahead and let me know. Please be aware that while neither one will require a huge amount of time from you at any given point, these RPs will virtually require that you participate almost every day, and they'll both benefit from consistent player involvement. Oh, and please don't vote in the poll unless you're realistically interested and able to participate. So....let's hear what you think!

Both sound cool. Time is an issue for me too, but this just sounds too great to miss.

I voted for Days of Madness. That's my kind of game :D

Too busy to participate unfortunately, so I haven't voted on either of them. I'll read whichever gets chosen with interest, though. :)

Alright you lazy lubbers, I can't very well run an RP with two people.

Step up or King Ludwig will come for you in your sleep!

Righto, I'll wait a month or so to open 'er up.

Until then...rock on! ...And/or listen to polka. Depending on which one officially gets picked.

I'll play to fill slots, but I am in Pendragon.

I'll only play time of madness though, Ragnarock fills me with meh.
