Re: Colors of the dragons

I've said this before and I'll say it again If you want to know about the real origins and ancient history fk the high elves read Michael Moorcock and his Elric of Melnibone series. Early GW plundered him wholesale for the old world Elves both high and dark for Melniboneans, especially the relations...

Orbis Terrarum - A new RPG

Hi folks, hope you dont mind me pushing this here, but a couple of friends of mine have written their own game, developed over many years with extensive playtesting. Its all done and written, artwork in place and now all thats needed is the crowdfunding (and maybe enough to get some more art paid fo...

Re: War of the beard: what do the elves know.

Sounds like an enormous and utterly garbage ret-con to me, designed to do nothing but appeal to elf players Elves and Dwarves dislike each other because the are fundamentally opposite and don't understand each other, the dark elves took advantage of this to separate two otherwise unstoppable allies ...

Re: Unit Fillers

I'd considered getting the Galadriel figure and using her as if the Spearmen were gathered round defensively

As for a cart I'd imagine it to be a more practical looking chariot shape.

Re: Unit Fillers

@ Shannar I see you point about them dominating the units In the case of my Spearmen I don't think that matters, and is almost the point - my original plan was to have a massive fortress gate behind them at the back rank for scenery but that was too much My "way stone" in with the LSG I ca...

Re: Unit Fillers

My idea for the statues is that they are soldiers lining the streets of Tor Yvresse, between the collonades and statues of the city

Each to their own though I guess - apart from as has been said "unit emptiers"

Re: Unit Fillers

The mini obelisk was from eBay - just searched for "elven terrain"

The statues are two resin columns I've had for ages and don't know where from. The figures are old TSR wizards (one is Raistlin from the Dragonlance books) that were old and paint sick and perfect for statuefying

Re: Movement Trays: Side Rails or not?

Even with magnetic trays, side rails help line units up better, they give something to hold when moving figures and as has been said, they add something to the look when included in the basing

Re: Ulthuan Culture - Class

Sounds an obvious thing to say but it's very commonly overlooked but...Elves aren't human. Consider how odd and even outright "alien" the behaviours of other human cultures are to us now - how westerners were baffled by Chinese and Japanese cultures when first encountered, even now they ca...

Reasons to like GW
1. They got me gaming (actually they didn't, but I've got to put something)

That's it. Sorry. It's all downhill from there. To give them any more praise is like praising a drug dealer.

Re: What's holding back the wrath of Tyrion and Teclis?

The problem is your making the mistake of thinking that GW fluff is remotely sensible or balanced. Why doesn't Teclis cast a spell to do xyz? Because he can't, the vortex stops that much magical energy Why doesn't Tyrion lead a campaign to kill the Dark Elves? Because no one would follow him. FWIW I...

26 shots, 25 wounds from the HBV?

He rolled to hit right?

Anyway, I played two games with my HElves today and got stuffed twice, combination of bad rolls from me and some epic rolls from my opponents - but mainly poor choices from me
