Age of Sigmar v2

This just popped up on GW's official AoS page:

https://www.facebook.com/GWWarhammerAge ... =3&theater

Sounds like a rules rewrite with the addition of campaign and tournament systems.

Re: Great Eagle alternative models

Shieldwolf makes two eagles, I got them in the kickstarter last year and they're decent. You'd need to cut them off the bases but they're resin so it shouldn't be too hard. Size is comparable to the GW eagles. http://www.shieldwolfminiatures.com/index.php/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product...

Re: Some advice to a "new" player please :)

Questions: 1) Do you think I ought to lose the Sisters of Avelorn (SA) in favour of one extra RBT? 2) I've added some silver helms and white lions by losing one regiment of reavers. 3) I am planning to use lore of light on both mages... However I'm wondering whether I would missing out on important...

Re: Secret Santa 2015

I finally got around to taking pics of my present! This is a limited edition skaven warlord from Gamesday 2011, which I really prefer over the current plastic model. I'm very happy with him, so many thanks to my secret santa! http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/xx110/greenwarriorofdagobah/Skaven/Ulth...

Re: Secret Santa 2015

Thanks for the heads up, I copied my reply below if anyone here is wondering: The sculpts are lower quality than GW has spoiled us with, but they aren't too bad. Putting them together I felt the detail wasn't very good and they would be hard to paint but once I put brush to model the details came ou...

Oh, if my secret Santa has pictures of my gift by all means post them so every1 can be jealous! Re: Tactics vs. Lizardmen?

Do you have any other models available? A RBT or two is always useful, as are eagles. With what you've been using so far I'd probably take the two blocks of seaguard, the swordmasters, BSB on foot, reavers, and use the archmage model as a loremaster. Loremasters are amazing and I recommend the earth...

Re: Age of Sigmar- Wound Allocation for War Machines

someone in the store claimed that the attacking player decides on how to allocate the wounds. It's probably more accurate to say the attacking player allocates attacks . The way I see it, warmachine warscrolls (RBT, hellcannon, etc.) consist of a unit of one warmachine and a unit of crew. The two u...

Re: How has AoS done in your area?

Do you find it's different compared to 8th ed? The customizability I mean, not the game. In some ways I think it is. I certainly could have done a variety of things with 8th, but never did. Why not? Was it because the book scenarios railroaded my way of thinking about the game? Or that eight editio...

Re: How has AoS done in your area?

I'm sure AoS will have its fans and I'm keen to learn who, what they like about it and why? For me AoS is a "tool set" rather than a "rule set." I have a turn order and a basic framework describing how to move and fight with my models, and the rest is at my discretion. I can cho...

Thanks for the feedback, I'll give it a tweak and see how it looks. I printed them out for the first time today and found the text almost too small, so I'll be making that larger as well. Watch for an updated set in the next few days.

AoS High Elves reference cards

Does anyone else find the GW warscrolls to be inconveniently large? I've only played a few games, but it seems my deployment zone becomes strewn about with papers so I can keep track of what things do. I found myself wanting a concise reference that I could easily keep on the table. So I poked aroun...

I'm in. I have three armies: Declining HE, lots of leather and steel with province appropriate accents/cloth/streamers, any color except white. Re: Magnetizing bases

I buy precut sticky backed magnetic base bottoms from litko , reasonably priced and already cut to 20mm, 25x50, etc. They aren't as strong as the rare earth magnets but I can put a plastic model to vertical sheet metal and they will stick. I wouldn't trust it vertically in the car but flat in the bo...

Re: Tiranoc Chariot units -reforming, Regrowth spell...

1a) Yes. But why you would I have no idea. You would lose all the impact hits from back rank chariots.

1b) No. The unit can't have a musician, so no swift reforming.

2) Yes and yes.

3) No. You could take a stubborn crown character in a chariot, but it wouldn't be able to join the unit.

Re: 5k Tag team vs. Nagash and the Undead

Well I wrote up a decent wall of text and then the interwebz ate it. Here's the short version, that I can remember. I still recommend a light council. You can drop the extra points of core, a few command upgrades, a white lion or two and some of the gear on the BSB (since he will be hiding in the ar...

Re: Shooting at cauldron of blood, screaming bell etc in uni

So as best I can tell, you're going to need a cannon. The troop type is chariot, and being a character mount we treat it like a ridden monster. Normally ridden monsters can't join units, but the cauldron is an exception. Characters in units can't be singled out (unless you have sniper which we don't...

Re: Shooting at cauldron of blood, screaming bell etc in uni

I don't have my books handy right now, but I'm pretty sure you can pick out a model if it's not the same unit type. So cavalry attached to infantry unit, monstrous cavalry in cavalry, etc. Also I think there might be a blurb in the skaven book about shooting at the bell/furnace, not sure if the DE b...
