Re: just for fun
Whos next? Dont want to be rude but that kinda ruins it when you name everyone you know, pick 5 and tell why you picked them. I just gave all of mine their full titles, I'm a nerd! I had a lot of fun going through them, and of course, what I wrote are my opinions on my choices, not bare facts. I be...

Re: just for fun
There are too many options really...even without going into them holding magic items like the Choedan Kal. Warriors: So Lan Mandragoran is probably my favourite, and is rightly a bad-ass. But as a frontline warrior he has only his immense skills. Logen "The Bloody Nine" is similar, but wit...

Re: That moment of distraction and you're gone~
Eric, assumedly Elessehta has posted all 10 of his posts per day on Ulthuan.net since he's joined the site a couple of years ago only at opportune, silent, safe moments. Pity the people with busy lives, eh? It's a very immediate problem for the modern always-connected society to deal with. I conside...

Re: GW digital "revolution"
So aerofool, you admit you're going to spend $100 on paper products and then in autumn spend more on models. That is exactly why they won't give the paper away for free. You're buying it anyway!

Re: GW digital "revolution"
Very specific ideas Teledor! I figure GW will price the books full and see how it goes. If people buy them, they stay full price. If people don't, price goes down. However, given both the luxury and niche nature of GW products, don't expect a price drop any time soon. Their prices for little pretend...

Re: the wheel of time ending *spoilers*
Book 1-3: Excellent, even work as a trilogy. Book 4-6: Lots of good bits, well worth it. Book 7-10: Not a lot happens, a lot of building up, too much wasted space. Boook 11: Gets back on track, good book. Book 12-13: Sanderson takes over, I like them. More actin, things start to finish up. Book 14: ...

Re: the wheel of time ending
Without getting into spoilers, I definitely think Sanderson is a good enough writer to do the job. In many ways he's a superior author to Jordan and managed to excise a lot of the weird mysogeny and constant over-long descriptions. That comes at the price of faster pacing at times, which can make it...

Re: the wheel of time ending
I loved it. Some bits were a bit glossed over or even a bit silly, but I thought on balance a pretty exquisite ending to one of my favourite ever fantasy series.

Right, so much for not making any comments - sorry for all the ensuing waffle, I promise not to quote any papers... Your last sentences say you never stated it was a conspiracy, but also that you think the information gathered might have been misused (Mist used?) for political gun control, wrongful ...

Re: I am shocked.
Facade, if that was at me, I haven't entered a discussion. There is no part of me that believes this conspiracy foolishness. So the Father is grieving. Pretty simple. As I said, it might be fun to invent/pick apart conspiracy theories in the abstract, but that kind of personal attack is wrong. Espec...

So by "make your own judgement" you mean "If you say anything I disagree with you're wrong"? Video is a load of hokey, conspiracy theories show up after every major tragedy. This is a tragedy. If you want us to make our own judgements stop immediately rebutting everyones' judgem...

What an odd first post on a Warhammer High Elf forum. Even those of us that only post in off-topic started with WH-related posts. Is this spam? The high elf-ish (elvish?) username suggests not, as does the lack of links, but still weird!

Hmmm, is it really worse to be dumped for somebody else? I mean, at least that's an actual reason. To me, a less painful one than her just getting bored of you, generally thinking she's too good for you or figuring out you guys have no future together without another reason. At least another guy mak...

Fantasy Premier League 2012-13
Alright all, it's that time of year. Fantasy Premier League time! This, as we all know, is the main competition here on Ulthuan.net, where reputations are won and lost. Football players are like elves: skillful, beautiful to watch and about as tough as a wet paper bag. Go to fantasy.premierleague.co...

Re: The Olympic Games 2012
Ireland got 5 medals, our best ever result! (Equal to 1956) We have only one high performance sports programme, and that's in boxing. It clearly shows with 4 medals in that sport. A bronze in equestrian rounds out the take. The loudest cheer recorded at the 2012 olympics so far was for Katie Taylor,...

Katie Taylor, Ireland's biggest hope for gold, has just pummeled some poor English girl in the female lightweight boxing quarter-finals. Bronze guaranteed, but looks very good to go better!

I just got Gran Turismo 5.
I love cars. This game is terrifyingly good at simulating driving. I could easily get lost in it for days adjusting gear ratios and spring strength. Every car is gorgeous and seems to drive pretty faithfully. If you like car games, none compare.

My WH bits and models have not seen the light of day in a long time. Anyone in Ireland want them? They'd be cheap... I'm in East London, so it's all OLYMPICS round my way. Torch passed my local street on Saturday, saw my first cavalcade (Brazil) on the cycle to work this morning. Six black MPVs with...

Re: Game of Thrones Series
If you like fantasy novels, Song of Ice and Fire is up there with the best. If you don't like fantasy, it probably wouldn't change your mind. Despite the lack of overt magic, it is very fantasy.
A friend just gave me the first series on DVD, I'll give it a look. I'm sure it's fun, I like the books!
