Re: Tiranoc Chariot Unit. Pro's and Con's

Wyssans is the only thing that tempts me to use a unit of chariots, use them as a front on hammer. The problem is, a soon as you have a strategy based on getting the charge and casting a spell you are doomed to fail.

Re: What's the point of chariots?

Chariots are excellent. They were better in 7th, and other armies have better chariots, but chariots are awesome. I like tiranoc ones because they are 70pts. The list I'm playing around with at the mo has three of them. Chariots perform three roles, and they do them all very well. 1) Anti Chaff. Wit...

Re: Sub Optimal Fun. Sickening, I know.

Sound reasoning and plans. keen to see the new list.

I like beasts on elves. Its the answer to all the problems. The sig is just so damned good. The other option would be death. Its a boring lore, but its highly effective. But I do like beats, a lot.

Re: Sub Optimal Fun. Sickening, I know.

I'm not against the frostheart per sae, but giving up your shooting means you have to be very aggressive. Unless going all Cav I am not convinced by no shooting, as this means you are forced to advance on WoC and Daemons, where as really against these armies anything you can kill from a far gives yo...

Re: The Peacock Legion of Ind - 2500pt

The one thing I'm stilling tossing up over is Caradyrn. I don't doubt that hes badass, and makes the Phoenix better and more survivable. However if I dropped him, and the eagle and put in a frostie in the rare section I'd free up 230pts. Those points could be spent on a unit of shadow warriors and a...

Re: High Elves on the edge of Athel loren

Really enjoyed reading this thread. Its quite similar what I'm proposing to do when I can get my Ind themed army up and running. I've a little more invested in characters and a flamespyre, but overall I think the concept is similar. Whilst not uber strong, I think such lists achieve harmony through ...

The Peacock Legion of Ind - 2500pt

I'm working on an Ind themed army. I've divided the project into two main ideas. The first is a WOC army based most around Tigermen and Ganesheans and things like that. The second idea is to make an army based around the more human side of Ind. My Ind takes its aesthetics and basic ideas from India,...

Re: 2400 Alarielle swedish comp tournament list.

I would of thought one of the primary reasons to have Alarielle would be the banner she lets you have. +8 to cast buffs and bubble buffs is absolutely awesome. If you're gonna use her, you may as well get the most out of her.

Re: 2 Dragons monster Mash competitive 2500pts

I'm actually coming to some of the same conclusions. Namely I think combinging the DPs is the way to go. If I do that, I can free up some points and have a unit of 10 helms too, which I think stands me in better stead than the many small units. On the frost Vs Flame phoenix thing: Yes the blue bird ...

Re: 2 Dragons monster Mash competitive 2500pts

I've been toying with the idea for sure. I like that it gives you a stronger magic phase, and frees up 180pts in not needing the lvl 2. But the consensus around here seems to be that it's the star dragon or nothing. And you can't kit out an archmage on a star dragon. And then by dropping down to a m...

Re: 2400 points, Star Dragon, Eagle Noble BSB and Wayshard...

I'm really interested in seeing what happens with your list. I've found myself thinking about the wayshard recently. My biggest concern is that you become reliant on those ranks to break steadfast, and if the unit doesn't turn up in t.2 then you can't make the charges you need until t4. Assuming you...

Re: Help me win a tournament (list now included)

No other characters can join the ambushing unit.only the one with the wayshard. Besides having half your army, your lvl 4 and your 250 pt bolt thrower not on the board until maybe turn 2 at the earliest doesn't sound sensible. If the spears get into combat your wasting the points of alith and the lv...

Re: 2 Dragons monster Mash competitive 2500pts

So I was thinking about the list and I had a thought..... The thought was Cardaryn. Okay, its not a second dragon, but comparing the Dragon Mage to Caradaryn for more or less the same points you get alot more combat potential. You give up the magic, but being forced to use fire isn't a great thing. ...

Avicii: You could think about Blade of Leaping Gold, Enchanted Shield, Potion of strength. Okay you can't re-roll you 2+ but for one round of combat when you need it you can have 6 S7 attacks..... Handy against knight buses or Deamon princes or Dragons....

He means that when the dragon charges you put another unit in with a champion (like the reavers) who can accept challenges, allowing the dragon to do its thing on the unit. Without a champion to help out the dragon will often get suckered in to a challenge by an enemy champion to reduce the damage t...

by stand alone I mean the only monster in your army.
Griffons are quite vulnerable to all shooting, including bows. The 3+ save on the moon dragon makes it much more resilient to small arms fire and poisoned attacks.

2 Dragons monster Mash competitive 2500pts

After reading lots of threads on here about Dragons and some of the very interesting army blogs featuring Dragons from both 7th and 8thed Army books I've concluded that Monsters must be a viable play style, and one that totally agrees with how I like to play Warhammer - fast, mobile, tough and all a...

Re: Monster Heavy 1500 List

I think the griffon is the weakest choice for a mount. Both the eagle and Dragon are more survivable. For what you have I would imagine the Dragon is the strongest way to go, the breath weapon can be really nice, and would probably work best as a stand alone monster (given you aren't going down the ...

Hmmm, some interesting thoughts there. The crown sounds solid, good spot. You may end up being right about the eagle nobles, I have seen some empire lists with multiple captains on pegasus' doing wonders, plus the eagle air force on here, but then I guess maybe because of the flyers and M9-10 things...
